That combo would be way too acidic for me, and I do have a stomach
made of steel. Or have until recently!

Not acidic at all. I'm not talking about store-bought sauce. I
    make it. Pineapple is caramalized
    No tomato sauce in it.

    BOB
no recipe, either I just wing it

No tomato in the bbq sauce??

No liquid smoke either. (natural smoke flavoring *is* liquid smoke)

Sauteed (fresh) pineapple, onion, garlic, a splash or two of of some sort of
hot sauce (whatever I grab from the shelf)
Some sort of fruit juice, probably pineapple. Usually apple juice, too.

Cook it down 'til it's the right consistancy.

You must have a stomach made of steel! BBQ sauce AND pineapple?

I make my own sauce, and its delicious. Not hard on the stomach at all.
I have acid reflux, take meds daily, and my sauce never bothers me (not
even before I started meds). It doesn't have a lot of vinegar in it and
no ketchup (blech!). I use pinapple juice, some tomato paste, molasses,
and a few other choice ingredients, including some liquid smoke. The
sauce is beyond delicious, and goes well with everything on the grill,
    too.

Try making pizza with a good homemade BBQ sauce, and the toppings I
listed. You will fall in love. I guarantee it.

This is the first compelling argument I have heard for making my own sauce.
    Thanks.

It changes every time I make it. Sometimes I thin it with cider vinegar.
Then it's acidic. That one's more for spare ribs, though it's OK for
    chicken.

    BOB
Using raspberry jam as a base for my BBQ sauce this weekend for chicken,
ribs and pulled pork. Maybe the brisket, too.

Usually for me, its mushroom, same as when I eat pizza in a pizza place.
Sometimes though I prefer something different so I might get barbecued
    chicken or hawaiian.

    Query:

If you order out for a pizza, what toppings do you request?
They are more limited than if you make it yourself.

I generally get sausage, mushroom, black olive and extra cheese.

At home, all bets are off!

See the above and add the following possibilities:

    Ham
    Pineapple
    Artichoke hearts
    Cocktail shrimp
Alternate extra cheeses (Monterey jack for me!)
Sliced smoked sausage (Pepperoni is too salty for me but YMMV)
    Olives of any kind
Interesting items from the 'frige (Musgovian pizza)

    Other ideas?

My ultimate favorite: spinach, fresh garlic, fresh tomato slices, mushrooms,
onions, olives and pineapple. Sometimes I add ham.

    kili

Wow, that's close to our favorite:

Spinach, pepperoni, tomato, black olive, mushroom, and fresh garlic.

US Time Capsule Yields cyerBAT's Brain:

You can see a pic of her rusty and WATERLOGGED brain here, she's a
    MESS...!!! :

    http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/43055000/jpg/_43055735_belap.jpg

"US time capsule yields rusty car

A car buried in Oklahoma in 1957 as a time capsule to mark the US state's
50th anniversary has caused some dismay after being finally unearthed.
Though encased in a concrete vault said to be strong enough to withstand
nuclear attack, the Plymouth Belvedere was waterlogged and covered in rust.

Air was pumped into the tyres but mechanics could not get it started.

The car was exhumed from its vault near Tulsa's courthouse as part of
    Oklahoma's centenary celebrations.

"I'll tell you what, she's a mess - look at her," said legendary US car
builder Boyd Coddington, who had been hoping to start the car at an event
    attended by thousands of people.

    Beer and lipstick

Items pulled from the car's trunk include a petrol can and some cans of
    Schlitz beer.

But what was supposed to be the typical woman's handbag of the times,
containing lipstick and tranquillisers, was said to resemble a lump of
rotten leather, the Associated Press news agency reports.

A capsule buried separately fared better, yielding an American flag and
postcards and maps in good condition.

The car is being searched for a microfilm containing the names of entrants
    in a contest.

They had been asked to guess the population of Tulsa in 2007 and the entrant
with the closest estimate, or their heirs, would win the car."

First off, stone is essential for cooking a pizza at home, metal baking
    sheets don't compare.

I don't like anchovies on ordered pizza, but love them on my own. That way
I can chop them smaller and use less of them, spread it out a little better
to avoid the salt overdose. They go great with black olives (green gets too
salty with the combined anchovies) and I like to mix a tiny bit of bbq sauce
(home made when I have it) into the tomato sauce. Other vegies are always
random... peppers, mushrooms, onions, whatever I have.

I must really give Anchovies another look. The only thing I've ever used
them for was pureed for sauces. They add a certain "something" to some
    recipes, much like Oyster sauce.
