What was even worse was that Hincapie and Popo were dropped on the second climb of the day.... last year they rode to the last climb of the day on the front ! Now come on ! Do you buy this ?guncha said:In pleanty of occassions last year Lance was isolated. DC destroyed everyone on Courchavel while on Port de Pailheres all DC boys were dropped. Lance reached St-Lary - Soulan also alone.
I took it as a joke that some thought George will be a contender but I am suprised that all DC had such a bad day. I didn't expect that none of DC will be in leading group 5km before the Beret summit.
....and he happened to crash into the management from Lampre at the Giro which caused him to agree a contract for next year... poor sod...musette said:Savo and Noval have pulled out of the Tour. What a bad outcome for Il Falco -- all that had happened was that he collided with a specatator AFTER the stage finished and he was riding down from the end of the stage.
I don't buy it, BUT... I don't necessarily think it means they were all doping before. That would imply they are all NOT doping now. If they were the last 7 years, I doubt they stopped.. regardless of the Spain scandal.whiteboytrash said:What was even worse was that Hincapie and Popo were dropped on the second climb of the day.... last year they rode to the last climb of the day on the front ! Incidentally, do you think they stopped training in the same way after Lance left? Didn't he (and the team) practice those climbs before the tour started? I'm wondering if they had the same level of "dedication" without him there pushing everyone.
Regardless, something seems to be drastically different, especially if it continues throughout the tour. It's important to note that so far at least, we're only talking about one day of completely falling apart in the mountains.
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, although I did not attach the same relevance to the TT failure. They failed, but it seemed that TMobile REALLY did well in that TT.. as in, they put a LOT of effort into it.whiteboytrash said:two drop outs today, one bad TT for all the riders of DC.... come on.... this is a consistent failure and what’s the reason ? Armstrong still owns the team speaks with the riders, why would they do anything different than in previous preparations ? Why did they ride better at the Giro and after Doctor Blood gets caught they cannot finish within 20 minutes of the front group which only includes guys who finished top 5 and down in last years Tour.... come on.... lets see what happens on d'huez on Tuesday....
Last year they didn't ride to the last climb on the front in all stages, just in part of them. For instance, look at stage 14 to Ax-3 Domaines where TMO dropped all DC riders except Lance. I was referring that from such kind of perspective it is not suprising they have failed though such kind of peformance is worse than expected anyway.whiteboytrash said:What was even worse was that Hincapie and Popo were dropped on the second climb of the day.... last year they rode to the last climb of the day on the front ! Eldrack said:Popo back in the top 10. Disco would be well advised to stick everything they have behind him and try to salvage a top 10 placing in Paris. Or they could go for more stage wins.
But there are still lots of contenders and this is still more exciting than many recent years. A fabulously interesting Tour.Eldrack said:Discovery falling to pieces this badly makes the tour less interesting. Removes at least 2 (and up to four) contenders from the mix. Less contenders, less excitement. Ah well, lets hope they cause some fireworks going for stage wins.

Wasnt it you that said if Disco won a Stage or got on the Podium that they wouldnt be in disarray??? You're not going back on your word are you???whiteboytrash said:Big day for DC out there today with both Benjamin Nioval and Paolo Salvoldelli abandoning... this is not disarray this is the mire !
Popo did a great job but Disco is still in disarray...thebluetrain said:Wasnt it you that said if Disco won a Stage or got on the Podium that they wouldnt be in disarray??? You're not going back on your word are you???
No because Phonak and T-Mobile allowed Popo to break away and win... it was in there interest to keep him out there and give him the stage win to protect the yellow jersey..... If he was a threat they would of reeled him in around 50km prior.....thebluetrain said:Wasnt it you that said if Disco won a Stage or got on the Podium that they wouldnt be in disarray??? Yes and no. I saw an interview with Bert Grabsch (Phonak) and he looked really bad, he said they where having a bad day because some of the Phonak riders have health problems. The way he looked... it's probebly true. TM saved their energy after their work on stage 11. I hope somebody from the top 20 (Zubeldia?, Sinkewitz?) will attack today and create some chaos for the top 5 riders...whiteboytrash said:No because Phonak and T-Mobile allowed Popo to break away and win...
