Did You Ride Today?

I didn't have the time today because school took way longer than I was expecting, but I'll find some time for a ride in the afternoon tomorrow for sure. It's the weekend!

I did a good ride today, not like you people did, no where near.

Haven't bought a new bike yet so I'm making do with my exercise bike indoors, been advised by doctors to do more cardio but indoors gets boring.

I just blasted some music away in my earphones, if I remember correctly I did 10 miles, which I'm actually really happy with, I've never hit the big 1-0 before so it's a real accomplishment.

Hoping to get into the real riding experience, out in the hills.

Been sick as a dog all week, even know I took the TT bike out earlier in the week just keep getting sicker. I decided to work a half day today and came home got out on the deck in the fresh air and sunshine and slept the afternoon away. Will be out tomorrow even if it's a little cruise, because I've got to Marshal a race Sunday. I Marshal the runners for a 6 race triathlon series and will be out on the run course for a Duathlon/Triathlon for the season opener. Hope everyone is able to get out and ride this weekend, stay safe !

Yes, I did ride today. Took my bike out for about a 4.5 mile ride this morning. Weather was really nice and I woke up early so I thought why not? Felt really great. There's a nice little park with a lake pretty close to my house, so I rode around that for a few laps. There were a couple of other people out doing the same thing. Lots of folks out enjoying the nice weather and some good exercise.

It rained all day. I had to attend graveside services this morning in a cold, driving rain. It was 54 degrees when we left the house this morning.

When I returned home I put a spoke in the Emonda and pulled the bottom bracket out, cleaned everything up and used Loctite 641 Semi-Permanent Retaining Adhesive on the BB86.5 press fit cups in hopes of eliminating a creaking noise when I was climbing.

I finished that up and climbed aboard the Gardin Track Bike on the trainer...just as another wave of water fell from the sky. 1 Hr. 02 Min. 06 Sec. later I climbed off. It was a great workout from start to finish.

The current air temperature at 6:30 PM is 43 degrees and it's dropping. The low is supposed to be 34 degrees tonight with a chance of some...damn!...snow flurries! With a high of 51 degrees tomorrow it will be a cool ride, to say the least.

Sorry to hear that, CampyBob.

I did 50 miles this morning with a local club that I belonged to.

Went out for another 32 miles in 75 degree weather and then the skies opened at mile 10 and it poured with temps dropping to 48F and I was on one of my racing bikes.....no handlebar bag with warm stuff or a shell. Only one thing to do. Drop the hammer. Not saying I was warm but it kind of felt good. Nothing like road grime dripping down the legs and soaking wet.

I made the decision to ride my bike clear across country. I'm doing the 4300 mile transamerica from oregon to virgina leaving June 4 and need to be back for a fourth of july party.

Road yesterday with my brother and 2 of his buddies. I like riding with my brother, besides the fact were family, we have a stark contrast in style. He's a strong descender and weaker on hills, very technical and a bit slower than me. Its almost like we were meant to learn from each others riding. One of his friends started a month ago and just bought his first set of clipless pedals yesterday. He fell within the first 5 minutes, but was fine the rest of the day. His bike was an old raleigh that probably wasn't more than a 7 or 8 speed. He road pretty good and looks to have some climbing potential.

His other friend was a mess. We were to start at 11, but the guys bike was filthy and hasn't been take care of. My brother spent 20 minutes cleaning it and the guy had to bring his wheel to the shop. We start riding at 12 and I soon realize that i'll have to take it real easy. For 90% of the ride, I stayed in the 52/12 to keep my speed at around 15 mph. Somehow the second friend kept falling behind even when I would completely stop pedaling. 15 miles in and he gets a flat tire, we spent 30 minutes trying to fix it. The tire was f'ed up! It was very worn and looks to have taken some sun damage. You could see some parts of it that looked warped, never seen that before. He has to get a friend to come get him, neither he or his bike was prepared. Nearly the same exact thing happened last time we rode with him like 8 months ago. Think that may have been the last time he rode.

The last 15 miles, I continued in harder gears to not speed up too much until the last 5 miles. I had to get home quick for a city trip and punched the gas. Did around 30 miles in 3 hours.....Somehow, I picked up my first Strava kom, must have been when I punched it up a bit. A long dragged out ride, but glad to see my brother out there again and the newer rider will be a good riding partner one day.

CAMPYBOB, lots of downhills and free speed,lol... I treated myself with a few attacks that picked up the overall average a tad. Spent most of the time in the biggest gear at a slower than **** cadence. It was the only way to get the legs sore at that slow pace with all the stops.

Todays ride was a solo that was unbearably windy. My bike was pushed a few times by the wind, but I was able to put in a pretty good effort without too many attacks. Not the wisest time to do out of the saddle work in huge wind storms. Finished earlier than I wanted, but my legs were pretty beat up. 32.1 miles/18.4 mph/1465 ft of climbing.

It's 41 degrees at 11 AM. The wind is howling 16-22 MPH with gusts to 28 MPH.

The sun is out and...it's snowing sideways and ice is falling from the clouds.

PERFECT! let's ride!

It finally warmed up enough for a quick 20+ ride. At one point I saw 2 dogs bolt toward me. That is not unusual but there was a squirrel in front of them. I assume it was either spooked or it was the meanest damn squirrel in the world. I didn't slow down to find out. Yesterday the wind was just to much to even have bike stability.

57 Degrees 17-20 wind with gusts at 30mph. Today was the season opener for the Max Performance series(Run Marshal). Today is a Duathlon / Triathlon going off at the same time. I get their 2 1/2 early so I can get acquainted with both run courses and go over things with the race director. The bike of choose today was the Zipp2001 Single Speed (52/15), which made for a killer workout. I ended up with 41 miles ripping around the run course, and did one climb on the course that is .52 miles long with an average of 7% with a max of 12% in sprint mode 11 times. I love the diverse group you have at these events. Time to relax on the deck, eat some ice cream, and put the legs up.

Took another ride today. This time I went to one of the state parks around my area. Rode for a good 4 or 5 miles. And I still didn't feel tired. Really had a lot of energy today. The sun was out, and it was warm, not too hot. Had a couple of friends out there with me so maybe that motivated me a bit more. I'll be out of town next week, but hopefully I'll be able to do this again in two or three weeks from now. Really enjoyed getting out and cycling this weekend.

Everyday I'm shufflin', shufflin'...

Just another 22 mile spin to test ride the Emonda to see if I eliminated the clicking / ticking. Sounds good so far. Will test ride over some bigger climbs tomorrow.

800' of climbing on a low intensity cruise averaging 16.2 MPH under sunny sky and 63 degree temperature. The wind was a bit noticeable at 9 to 17 MPH, but I stayed low and tried to get the BB to make some noise. It stayed quiet and the Loctite 641 Semi-Permanent Retention Bond had 48 hours on the cure time. It should have been at maximum strength by then.

I went for a ride after 3.00 PM. It was nice and sunny, so I had a great ride until roughly 4 o'clock, when it suddenly started raining heavily. That's usually a gamebreaker for me, so I quickly returned home - I still got quite soaked.

Just an hour and three minutes on the trainer, excluding warm-up and warm down. I should have hit the road in the light rain, but it was easier to go beat myself up on the track bike and fluid trainer. As Donald J. would say, "Huge Watts!". Well, OK. Huge Watts for me, which is to say girly man power for most guys.

I think I was fantasizing about being Bob Jungels!

The horizon and the radar are just now showing some clearing and tomorrow is supposed to be dry.

A 6am hard effort on the played out route. I try not to get too creative with early rides and know this route to be pretty traffic free. 18.2 miles/18mph,840 ft or so. My legs were still sore from my Sunday ride. Felt good to be out there though.

Wanted to just spin today so it was 1 1/2 hours spent in the woods. I keep trying to explore new areas every time I go out, and today I found this crazy difficult single track trail. Looks like I found a new section that I'll be playing in more often because I love this type of trail. I also found a way to cross the river over to a huge new area to explore in the future.

Tomorrow weathers looking good so the Kestrel looks to get the nod for some play time.

24.4 miles/18.9 mph/1183 ft, I stood on most of the climbs and did a lot of out of the saddle attacks on the flats. I seem to be getting closer to averaging 19 mph for 1-1.5 hour rides, more work to do.
