Quoted message said:Been officially back at the gym on a regular routine now since July
16th. I've been riding the lifecycle for 35 minutes per day, 4 days per
week and had worked up to level 8. I still break a real sweat but it was
getting to be too easy...I decided today to try switching to the stairmaster. OMG!
I was able to do my 35 minutes on level 4 with only two very short
breaks of maybe 15 to 30 seconds each.I got a little bit winded, but not too bad, and my heart rate was at 160
when I got off. Took 15 minutes for my heart rate to drop down to around
110.Wow.
After that I did 5 sets each of deadlifts and bench press.
I'm planning at this point to try keeping it up. (The Stairmaster) Hope
I don't kill myself. ;-) I always weigh before and after I work out and
usually lose 1 to 2 lbs. of sweat depending on how much water I drink
while I am there. Today I dropped 2.5 lbs.Might have to really try increasing my water intake while working out,
but too much makes me nauseous. I try to make it up over a couple of
hours when I get home.
Just a word of caution - take care of your stretching and avoid overuse
specially if you haven't used the stairmaster much - short rapid steps will
help prevent knee injury - it looks low impact but in reality stairmaster
puts a lot of stress on your knees
