  1. anyone here taken kenacort 40 in the past - or still use for that
matter - anyone have experience with the *grape preparation method*?

  2. Kenacort, not personally.

    "Grape preparation"???? What the....?
I might know what you are referring to. I had a couple team mates who
used to eat nothing but grapes the day before a big race. Obviously
this was combined with something else, but I don't know what it is they
took in the aproach of a major race. They both used a doctor down in
southern France I believe, Bayonne, or Biarritz or something like that.
Bernard something I think it was, something like that... they referred
to him as Mabuze (if it's THE Mabuse, I don't know, but judging by the
    riders I would guess it was). If this is what you are talking about;
as far as I know this Mabuze guy is no longer "practicing", I have
never heard of any other doc using the "preparation" method as you call
it. Of course this might not be what you are talking about at all,
I'll probably find you are talking about some new frame tube shaping or
soemthing.. in which case, ignore me.

Why do you wanna know? I'm not sure this is the best place for this
    kind of question/info...

    Yes.

  4. what were your experiences with kenacort? notice any strange side
    effects? you still use it?

i've been taking diprostene this season and have found that I wake
myself up in my sleep by grinding my teeth, my jaw then aches a lot.
i've also found it hard to stay hydrated feeling permanently thirsty
reguardless of weather. anyone else suffered this or is it something
    to do with me?

Grape preparation method? Where one drinks copious amounts of wine before a
    race?

Grinding of teeth at night is quite common for a racing cyclist.

Sounds like you've taking them too much. Corticosteroids are usually
best taken for a 1 day race, you should be avoiding too much use not
only to avoid the side-efects, but also to make sure you keep getting a
good result from them... so I've been told. How often are you taking
Diprostene? Do you take it for training or only in races?

Is that a blood doping device? Because the liquid's red and a lot more
dense than water (see the ice cubes only halfway submerged).

Wow. That is interesting. Why, do you know ?

    Laz

  12. mr fleming: why do you say teeth grinding is common? that's
    interesting, please do tell.

mr fictif: i've been mainly using it in races, but also for some bigger
training rides. it has taken a while before this teeth grinding thing
started, at first all went well. i'm more worried about the hydration
issue, as that sometimes really hinders me.

i had found a tryathlete discussion group that dealt with performance
issues, but they mainly used products from mexico that had different
names. they weren't able to help much, and think they use them
    differently.

is that all you know on the grape method? just some team mates? i've
heard of it still recently, so some doctor out there must be using the
method. i would like to know who and where.

who were your team mates? i doubt you would say, but at least where
were they based - what area?

I'd suggest you go see a REAL doc and get yourself off that [censored]...
either that or learn how to take that [censored] efficiently mate. Where do
you race, how come you don't have anyone around you to tell
you/instruct/teach you how to go about what you are doing. Your
playing a dangerous game mate. Answer my questions and maybe I'll
    answer yours...

And doesn't that say something to you? That hydrations [censored] should be
a clear sign staring you in the face.

I don't know mate, that tooth things would worry more than the
    hydration [censored].

You'd can't "play" with that stuff matey, if you are going to dabble in
the cycling world like that, you go at it in such amateur style...

  15. Plus.. where have you heard about the grape method thing as you call
it? If you've heard of it you would think you knew someone who could
    advise you properly...

Both of those are side effects of cortical steriods. Cortical steriods
are naturally released in response to stress lastingly longer than 15
seconds. By doping yourself up on cortical steriods your are in effect
triggering you bodies stress response hence the stress-related tension.
I would imagine you have sore shoulders, maybe a little easier to tick
off etc. essentially your body thinks it is in a stressful situation
    and is acting accordingly.

The reason you are thristy is because cortical steriods also instigate
the raising of blood sugar(often to the determent of muscle creation).
Since your body can't tell the difference between sugar and salt you
end up with water concentration/osmosis issues and will feel
    chronically thristy.

Stop doping yourself up with cortical steriods for no reason. There is
a decent body of evidence that prolonged use causes problem to the
liver and heart muscles as well as being really stupid for training.
cortical steriods are catabolic and therefore defeat the whole purpose
of training. You may feel better on the ride but you aren't going to
recover as well and as we all know (or should know) it isn't riding
that makes you faster, it is sleeping.

  19. thank you. that's interesting. i haven't noticed the shoulders, but i
am often tight all over, i figured that was due to the training load.
effectively you are saying training on diprostene is a bad move.
racing with it on rare occasions will increase performance, but
frequent use and using it during training are counter productive.
that is exactly the kind of information i was hunting for. funny how
difficult it is to find such information. according to what you have
said i have screwed up my whole season. things have not been going too
well this year, with a new team and more pressure i wanted to race well
early in the year. the more i failed to perform, the more i used the
    diprostene. ironic.
    thanx

  20. mr fictic
when the teammates in question do not speak the same language as you,
it isn't easy to get all the info you want.

can you give me anything on the bayonne grape deal?
