things a terrible mess.. NOW I get it.
Yep, that's strange... some guys don't like riding with people who
aren't experienced.. it can be really annoying when people half wheel
you, don't ride bar to bar, or just aren't used to riding close. I've
tried it (my nasty side) riding with a bunch of cat 1s and 2s in the US
a while ago (young fit guys) it annoys ma little when people
(esspecialllly of that level) ride about 1m away from you.. so as we
were chatting I moved closer, they moved, away, I kept chatting and
slowly moved closer.. they moved away.. we ended up on totally the wron
side of the road.... silly little things like that can get annoying on
a ride...
Yeah, but to hear you tell it, it's funny as [censored], man.

his only way of judging if people where experienced was by fitness...
Still it's sad, I think it is nice to pass on what you know to new
riders... oh well.. c'est la vie.
Oh, I guess. In fact I've said before, I can hardly blame him for not
wanting to show up and find some doofus in a straw hat and loafers and have
to ride with him (though I look like your average master fattie, I think).

PS: don't take the [censored] out of the guy's spelling.. have you seen
mine?! ;-)
Oh, no, he was spelling it funny as a deeper jap in the ribs. Like a whiney
"I'm askeerd of ridin' in that thar traffic, ma" hillbilly sort of comment.
I wasn't criticising him for spelling it, just relating the tone of the
email to you. ;-)
But, but, on the other thing, why not invest 10 minutes and give the guy
some tips on how to ride closer. I mean, durn, I'm likely to be the most
enthusiastic guy this ex-pro is gonna ride with now-a-days. I ride
two-a-day rides and I try to do the nutrition right, and I'm always up for
a ride if someone calls me, I lift weights and box, and stuff. Hell off the
bike there's no way he's keeping up with me.
You'd think that would account for something. Heck even for the sadistic
types to have a new guy to torture on a climb and make fun of. Hell, I'd do
it once as long as they didn't lead me through Death Valley, or off the
face of some cliff or something, lol.
