None of the above, and just now found the time to sit down and frame a reply...
Stay-at-home mother of two and spouse of one, part-time substitute teacher, fledgling custom sewist (damn, I still can't say that with a straight face), recovering CFO.
In defense of the American way, and while it would be nice to have more vacation time. I deal with several European suppliers at my work and there's one thing in common with all of them; They only have one speed - slow! They just don't understand or care to move their ass when required.
I'd pretty much go along with that, with the exception of the UK. The continental Europeans certainly have a more relaxed attitude to work, but from a personal POV, that's not such a bad thing. I'm quite enjoying Germany's relaxed attitude to work (7.5 hr days, time off in lieu, 45+ days holiday a year, etc, etc).
Obviously, the German economy is suffering a little...
BTW Slack, can you fix the wrap on your reader please.
Do protein shakes really help out with weight gain? I'd like to gain some more muscle mass and I'm trying to find the way to do it effectively and safely.

Ya..they do but you must weight train as well. AND make sure you don't limit your carb intake because you will never gain weight. Also, unfortunately, if you bike a lot you will not gain muscle mass.

I'm not a computer geek. It was all I could do under penalty of death to get my photos digitized and posted re the ID epic weekend. I don't own a cell phone, a dvd player or digital camera (that's coming next, though for ride reports) I ride a singlespeed most of the time, which pretty well sums up what I'm like. Happy, simple, low-tech, uncomplicated.

2 weeks is the American way, and if you are really really lucky they are paid. Sucks, doens't it? The Europena model is brought up a lot. My hubby's worked his way up to 3, and with the use of 3 day weekends it's amazing how much vacation we can squeeze out of that.

Wow! Well you live and learn. When I started I got 4 weeks & now I've worked my way to the top of the scale and get 6 1/2. Last year I didn't take it all, so I carried 2 over. I'm now trying to work out what to do with 8 1/2 weeks vacation.
On the other hand I live on a cramped little island with fairly small pockets of country surrounded by endless conurbation and roads, 40% Tax on a significant part of my income, and only a few maintained purpose built trails.

You should come to europe.
Here in Denmark 5 weeks are minimum whatever job you have and many get 6 weeks plus extra days for family stuff. I have to make do with 5½ weeks:-)
Oh and a standard working week is 37 hours, anything over that is overtime and pays a good deal extra or is traded into to extra free time.
