Why don't they have British accents? Or do they in Australia?

Edit - never mind, I looked it up. The internet is such a time sucker!! Anyway....you're right. I didn't know that. What I also found out is that people will get worked up about anything these days. From Wikipedia...

Some have complained about technical errors and lack of proper safety practices in the program, especially the absence of protective eye-wear.[1] However, in later episodes, Bob is seen wearing safety glasses.

they have British accents (because they are British actors), i am watching it right now...9am on a sunday morning...

yep, my daughter is three.

Neil Morrisey plays Bob....

why on earth you americans cant fathom the differences between Uk and Aus accents is an utter mystery.... 9,000 miles apart

How weird is that? - Having to dub American accents on to an animated English series so that the kids will understand English as it is spake! The same thing happened with Thomas the Tank Engine. Heaven forbid that children should start using "u" in "colour" etc. Now, if it were Yorkshire accents, I could understand the need for subtitles...

I once tried to watch Quadrophenia and I couldn't understand a word they were saying.

Bob and Thomas however would be quite charming with British accents, especially Thomas as it has a British feel to it. Oh well, I'm sure they did focus groups and decided they could sell the most toys if they have the local accent. That is the only reason for animated series, is it not? :p

...wait a minute! when did y'all change the american language to english? why wasn't i notified?

thats understandable....the entire cast of Alladdin also speak in American accents....we dont want to over strech those little minds by confusing them with accents now do we.

Has anyone ever seen "Iron Chef"? It's a Japanese cooking show (2 chefs are given the same ingredients and compete to produce the best dish). In Japanese it would be pretty boring. What makes it side-splittingly funny is that the dialogue has been dubbed in manic American accents.
It's full of "Oh.Wow!!!!" and "Didya see that!!" and "Canya believe it!!!"
It's a cult hit. :D

Ah man I miss those 80's eastern martial arts movies where the mouth and the sound never matched... Even the dogs barked out of sync.

They ran on Sunday mornings in South Africa - the perfect way to start a hungover/race dead day...

Worst day ever? I was doing a few leg prep sprints the day before a big race, broke my chain while winding up a 53x13 and went down heavily on my right ass cheeck. Bandaged it all up and went racing the next day. Was sitting in the gutter at 50kph when the guy 3 ahead of me crashed taking out half the bunch - I went off into the gravel, swerved like a drunk man for a while and ended up hitting a concrete drain with my already trashed right ass cheek.... I had to sh!t standing up for over a week....
