....walked a mile. In my own shoes <G>. I haven't been able to walk for a
long time, and I didn't even get winded. My daughter (13) went with me,
and we each took one of our dogs. It was along a river, slightly rising
and falling so it wasn't just flat and boring. We plan to do it every day
and I hope to get back up to 4 miles/day, which is what I used to do with a
friend before an accident/serious injury sidelined me a few years ago.
It's day 12 and things are still going so well I'm afraid I will wake up.
Well, I probably will, it just hasn't happened yet 🙂. Keeping my carb
count at 20 hasn't been difficult because I love most vegetables, I love
meats, I love being able to put butter on my vegetables, I love
salads...well, you get the idea. This way of eating is fitting me like a
glove.
I'd mentioned that my husband can put his arms all the way around me. I
can also bend down and tie my shoes without having to hold my breath. I
can encircle my wrist with my hand (not on the same arm - lol). All things
that are new since I started LC eating.
Last thing I notice, and it may be related to how I'm eating, or may be
related to my better frame of mind, but I'm sleeping like a rock. Sleep
has been fitful with lots of tossing and turning for years now, until the
last week or more. Now I sleep so soundly the night zips by in about 3
minutes <G>.
I am SO GLAD to finally have taken this step, Saturday will be my 14-day
celebration with my husband. We're going to our favorite date place when
he gets off work in the morning, our friendly local casino. We go for the
MASSIVE breakfast buffet (and then we don't have to eat the rest of the
day) and then we each play $20 in nickels in the slot machines. Cheap date
but so much fun. The buffet has nice big breakfast steaks, bacon, poached
eggs, all sorts of things I can eat. No vegetables (that I recall) but
I'll fill up on those tomorrow. I always loaded up with french toast and
corned beef hash and cheese blintzes (sp?) in the past - in my "old life".
This will not only be a celebration but it will be a test and I'm
determined to pass it 🙂.
Anyway...thanks for listening!
