Yes, and no disrespect meant to him. But the guy who
takes the yellow jersey gets to stand on a podium and
wave a lion, and gets UCI points (or whatever they're
called now). It's a big deal, like winning a stage (as you know).IIRC, the "George will never win a race on a Sunday"
maxim was said by somebody to claim that although
George might be able to pick off Ghent-Wevelgem, he
would never win the big race - like Paris-Roubaix or
Flanders. He hasn't won those, of course. But last year
he did win a bunch of races on Sundays. It was a little
spooky. -
