Stage 19 - Saturday, July 28: Cognac - Angoulême, 55.5km

Apparently you have yet to read Le Monde this afternoon.

Discovery's Contador = Operation Puerto & Manolo Saiz stink bomb
Must comes as news to you that The French are not exactly joyous when one of ours wins. Neck and neck with having an American win. ;)

Cheers.

Ah, I just checked and y'all are right--the course was slightly downhill (for Lemond in 1989) but more notably was a mere 25 km in length--half the distance of today's.

So they're going twice as fast? No wonder LeMond *****es! But I'm sure some of them are clean.

As deluded as you are, at least you are consistent. The funniest thing about this thread are the people who just slam your rider and anyone from Disco, but were cheering Evans on like he is some paragon of virtue.

That aside, the fact is that the podium was made by men who doped. There is simply no way they didn't given their performances. I think my favorite part was Armstrong in the car. The "miracle" man comes back.........."so too does a dog return to its vomit."

Now see, I admit that the the rest of your garbled response in quasi-english was beyond my reading comprehension capacities (guess I need a course on reedneck-speak), you've actually made a very salient point here.

Well done. And peace if you'll have it. If not....:::::shrug::::....I'm certainly enjoying the moment after such a draining ITT.

All that shines is not gold.

Nope.

Not one rider is clean. ZERO.

But not everyone is on the gas bus (blood transfusions of cow or human sauce) and research drugs.

He beat second place by 51 seconds.
Oh, come on! Newbie that I am here, surely you realize that's par for the course...as long as they get their bash in, facts are irrelevant, wouldn't you agree ;)

Sure, peace. I am dickish sometimes, and the reality is that sometimes I just like to be dickish for dickish sake.

I also am consistent, which is more than I can say for some here..rooting for Cadel Evans, I am truly in awe of the hypocrisy

And yes, I grew up in the rural south, but I also have 2 degrees, graduate magna cum laude, and have a measured IQ that I feel pretty confident in saying is above room temperature...unless you live somewhere truly hellish. I also love NASCAR and goin' 4 wheelin'.........

Close but no cigar! I thought Leipheimer would win the stage
Yeah, as I was trying to get to sleep last night it occured to me that the media were sticking their microphones in Alberto and Cadel's face all the while they were ignoring Levi. He had no media pressure, no tough questions, and plenty of sleep.

When Levi was interviewed in the Dauphine he said that he didn't expect to do well there because he was delaying his peak until the third week of the Tour. Cadel was close to peaked at the Dauphine. At that point it struck me that Levi would have a kick ass day today.

I was severly worried about Contador. I don't think that he has ever had anything remotely close to this level of pressure. I was sure that he wouldn't get a wink of sleep last nite. I was affraid that he might loose it. Way to go little Al.

Anyone see Contador's cadence. I like the high cadence concept, but I can't see him ever going faster unless he rides one tooth bigger.

Yes, Lemond's record is at 54 kmh + for the ITT. Clean!
If I remember correctly, Lemond's ride was around 20 km, and it was also slightly down hill.

Yep, that is the case whether or not others will smell the coffee....er HGH.

I will say this however, I do understand, and believe that the riders get all of the press, and all of the hatred, yet the teams, organizers, and sponsors are just as complicit for having turned a blind eye for years, and for creating the circus in which the performers must perform.

All of the guys who are doping are not evil sociopaths who have no regard for anyone but themselves.......though read "It's not about the Bike" and watch the protagonist wallow in his narcissism. I am sure most just want to make a living in one of the greatest sports on the planet. I mean face it, if you have ever spent more than an hour on a bike at one time, you have to know that it is one of the greatest "drugs" that exists. I have run marathons, and participated in many other sports, and none of them inspire the feelings associated with riding a bike, though bombing through the woods at warp speed arises the fondest of memories.

I just want the sport to continue, and it appears that it can only be saved bu turning loose the maggots (the press), and let them eat away the dead, rotting flesh.

I was confused. When he came through and secured his number 1 spot he was 2 minutes ahead so cadel halved that, probably because his physician is still in residency.

We already went over that, but try and keep up!

ita!

So, who thinks levi was given the same test as vino?

I say he wasnt. and i doubt the top 5 were blood tested as well. and regardless of what you think about your persona favorites, this is a problem, wouldnt you say?

Lance would NOT be present if Levi was tested.

I assume Levi was not tested for blood mixed cells and no IRMS test either.

Lance is there to FIX the image of cycling. Nike needs to sell sneakers after the Michael Vick dog fighting problem.
