You're always good enough to start. If you can stay on, you're good to
go.

Here's the 'Unicyclist Roster' (http://www.unicycling.org/roster/).

My son and I were riding along the greenway by our house today when we
came across a family. From a distance we heard "hey look, unicycles".
The child, who was about three years old, then said to his father,
"looks scary". As we got closer he said "looks impossible".

Not really a uni quote, but somewhat related....

I was scouting a park to unicycle in Saturday morning. The park didn't
work out so I drove on down by the Hudson river in a part of town I had
never been to. Along the way I made a wrong turn, so went into the
train station to turn around.

At the train station, there was car blocking the parking lot entrance.
Since I was turning around, I just waved to the driver just to make
sure he didn't pull into my path. I continued to drive on down to the
river.

Soon, I notice from my rear view mirror, that guy from the train
station is following me. I could see his face glowing with the biggest,
happiest smile you ever saw.

Getting down by the river, I pull over. The guy pulls up along side me,
from my car, I could only think to say, "I don't know you".

His smiling face turned. He explained that he was to meet someone back
at the train station. I said, "You better get back to the station, cuz
I'm not the person your meeting." He apologized politely, I offered,
"Have a nice day" and he drove off.

Just an odd occurrence.

i've been thinking about getting some earphones just to wear when i ride
so people think i can't hear them. i don't actually want to listen to
music so the plug part would just be in my pocket. i bet people would
notice them and not try to talk to me, especially if they're white like
the ipod ones. anyone have some experience with this? do ppl still
try to talk (****) to you when you're listening to music?

A guy today asked me if I had suspension on my uni. I just have a yuni
frame and a qu-ax wheelset. I suppose he thought so because he had
suspension on every part of his bike by the looks if it. Does anyone
know what kind of bike it might have been. It had suspension on
everything, and I am not kidding it looked like it would weigh like 100
pounds.

Last week a guy in our uni club saw us riding in the snow and was
surprised... "In the snow?" Meeting times conflict with his schedule
so he's only ridden with us a couple times, and hadn't ever heard of
people riding in the winter :)

Nice to impress other unicyclists sometimes... especially when they're
a bit better (he can idle easily...)

obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and

Do not ride in trafficed areas with headphones, its dangerus mmmkay?
A friend of a friend was hit by a car and died, taking his bike to the
soccerfield when the rest of the class walked, wearing his headphones
he never saw what was coming..

Just a friendly notice! :)

Now i'm heading off for some snacks on my 29er, half a snow-storm
outside, with the wind to my face on the way there ;)
I'll tell if i meet anyont funny ;)

The postman bought my new uni this morning. He said to my daughter "I'll
give her a week and she'll be fed up with it".

Yeah right!

(jessica said "I don't think so this is her sixth or seventh unicycle"
(slight exaggeration)

That's a very interesting expression you're using there.
A while ago i heard a lady from the UK use the same expression and
since I wasn't familiar with the expression, asked her about it's
origins.
It's interesting to hear an Australian use the expression.
