way to his tree stand and climbed into it so he would be ready for first
light. While he was sitting there he started to hear noises around him. As
it got light enough to see, he found he was surrounded by turkeys, waking up
and ready to start their day.

Two white tailed deer, almost gone, now. He wasn't in the mood to pluck
turkeys and shooting them might have alerted the deer.

The main hunting right around here is quail and pigeons.

The javelina are out there, away from the county, but are rather hard to
find. Same for the deer. It's much easier to go looking for rattlers.

I saw a roadrunner fly up to the top of my back gate, then up to my
roof. Ran across the top of my roof then vanished. :-) It was quite a
treat.

Tarantulas, good for the pet market but I leave them be. They are not
common here. You must have a lot of sage brush??

Horned toads, Texas horned lizards are considered a threatened species,
mainly due to FIRE ANTS.

You are lucky not to have the little [censored].

It's one of the few insects I WILL treat with pesticide baits. Amdro is
a good thing.

Y'know, wild turkey feathers are worth $$$ on ebay for native american
