Why should it? When the digitoxin is in your

how is your heart to know whether it came from a pill or ground up foxglove leaf?

You should address your question to your >heart, and all

    the other parts too.

What for? I don't think my body parts have magic powers. If you think yours do, then you can join
Supreme8007 in the aluminum foil hat set.

Steve, if want to discuss magic, I suggest you go to another NG.

And in any case, ground up foxglove leaf is "processed" by

    any reasonable

    Quoted message said:

definition of the term. I suspect the "all natural" crowd

    draws the line,

    Quoted message said:

whether they're really aware of it or not, at any sort of

    processing that

    Quoted message said:

could be regarded as *industrial*. I think what's going

    on is a

    Quoted message said:

combination of a romantic rejection of the Industrial

    Revolution combined

    Quoted message said:

with a ritual purity concern about crossing category

    boundaries (it's

    Quoted message said:

appropriate to put products of agriculture into your body,

    but not products

    Quoted message said:

    of industry).

Look, these are not Amish we're arguing with, but people who own computers. And probably not pedal
    powered computers, either.

I occasionally meet people on the net who claim to be NatureBoys, sitting around in hemp clothes
that they wove themselves, eating nothing but organic produce out of their own gardens. I have a
word for such people: lying [censored].

There exist people who live that way, but they don't have time for the net. They work too hard
    trudging through manure all day.

Many years ago, while I was still in the Army, I was training NCO for my unit. I scheduled special
training sections for the detachment. Since I was at Ft. lewis, WA, much of the training was in the
field, since soldiers have to learn to live in the field.

So, I schedlued a parachute insertion into the Bitteroot Wilderness area of Montana the day the
    trout season opened...pure coincidence....

We dropped into a clearing and started our trek to the nearest body of water to set up camp for
    over night.

No sooner than we broke the tree line, we found a well camouflaged log cabin which was obviously
occupied. The three occupants were as shocked to see us, as were were to see them.

Seems that they had retreated to the wilderness a few years before, and were very content living off
the land. We spent the night visiting with them, and, went on for training the next full week. They
had towork most of the day just to survive.

My training report never mentioned them. I would live to know what happened to them.

What for? You're the one who brought the subject up, and I think it's perfectly fine to reject it
right here. I have no way of knowing where you're posting from, but I'm answering from sci.med.
    Medicine is not magic.

I have ninnies like Ghode telling me that one of the three tenets of "natural health" is
"vitalism." In other words, a magical idea. The large pot we call "alternative medicine" is full of
essentially magical thinking. There's some science in naturopathy and a few other places, but few
    and far between.
