  1. Someone posted a good arm flab exercise quite a
while ago. This is for the back part of the arm
between the elbow and shoulder. Can someone
    refresh my memory? Thanks much.

    Marsha/Ohio

  2. Pushups and pushaways.

Seated dips will hit the triceps as well.

Important thing to remember though - these will build the muscles in the
area - making it potentially less flabby but won't do anything about any
    excess fat there.

Martha who *really* wishes spot reduction worked.

If the fat doesn't go but the muscle comes, then the arms will look bigger.

That brings a bizarre picture into my mind :-)

  6. I tend to believe the contention that there is no such thing as spot
reducing. Just because a muscle is near a lump of fat does not mean the
body will use that particular fat to refuel itself.

Groan. Do you know how bad I am at pushups. I
look like a swayback horse. It'll have to be
    pushaways.

One site I found on Google suggests pushaways from
a wall for beginners and then graduate to counter
push-backs, then go on to real pushups. That
sounds like it might work until I get rid of some
    of this belly.

I was talking about doing pushaways from the table so you will eat less,
which is the only sure way of reducing arm flab.

Push away from the table, dear.

Any weight lifting exercises for the triceps will help. :-)

Cable pushdowns and "skull crushers", as well as dumbell kickbacks.

These three can be googled for form and info.

    Cheers!

Got any exercises for head flab dear?
You sure could use it! ;-)

  15. This really isn't the best advise. Push-ups will work a lot of chest, which
isn't a bad thing, but not concentrating on your arm. If you want to work
out the tricep, you will need to do push-ups with your hands very close
together. Very difficult unless you are in my condition. You can do tons
of different exercises for the tri's.

    1. Close grip bench press.
    2. Behind the head dumbbell presses or use whatever weight you have laying
    around
    3. Push downs w/cable
    4. kick-backs with dumbbells or whatever weight you have laying around

Working out is great for you. I highly recommend it. You might as well do
some bicep work while you are at it. That will tighten up the skin a bit
more. What you are trying to do is very hard however. Long term goals are
    best for this.

    Good luck,
    Curt

LC to get to goal and now just eating what I want and exercising like crazy.
    I am in shape!

    Few Links for you here:

    #1 - http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/TricepsBrachii.html
A little something about the area you are trying to work

    #2 - http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ArmWt.html#anchor122387
A pretty comprehensive list of stuff you can do with various equipment
to work the area and animated pictures of some big muscly dude from the
seventies doing them. Also note the stretch for this.

    #3 - http://www.exrx.net/WeightTraining/Myths.html#anchor7319578
Into each life, some rain must fall, and this is that rain on your
    parade :_(
I believe you can firm up this area with your LT weightloss goals and
some exercise, but I don't think there is even a "hard workout magic
    bullet" for you.

Last note: I do French Press and One Arm Triceps Extension as part of
my workout to work this group. Two really targeted exercises should
build it in a way that you want, if you do it assiduously.

Real last note: I think pushups, while good for you, are not a good
choice here, unless, as noted, you do them with a difficulty enhancing
    modification (hands very close).

    Bite me sweetheart! ;-)

Yeah, I'm stalled for now, but I'm trying harder!

    <sigh>

    I'm NOT pigging out either!
Now that I have more of a routine schedule, I think things
    will work out better.

On the up side, my DL is up to 150 lbs. now. :-)

I'm still paying for Teus. workout with a good case of upper back DOMS,
but it hurts so good if you know what I mean? <lol>

I'm _trying_ to increase that particular lift by 5 lbs. per week.

My bench press still sux but I'm considering doing those on the Smith
rack so I can safely increase the weight without having to have a
    spotter.
