Depends on what kind of vegetarian and where you live?
You might need a little milk or eggs to supplement the missing animal
components.
Humans are 'designed' to eat animal/insect products - they produce a
powerful acid and various enzymes for digesting animal proteins.

Michelle,
The short answer is "YES". A strict vegetarian is
probably not getting enough vitamin B. However, there
are some (not necessarily the majority) of vegetarians
and even vegans who maintain good health for a long
life without supplements. My guess, is that it has
something to do with genetic makeup, or perhaps
something else in their environment that compensates.

Humans were not designed to eat animals/insects in the beginning.
Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all
the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29.
"Thou shall eat the herb of the field." Genesis 3:18
An explanation.
We believe that "In the beginning God created ... man and woman." We also
believe that when God created us that He made us unique, with the freedom to
choose. And yet how could we choose without gaining information. He gave us the
information we needed to choose wisely, unfortunately, throughout history, we
have a reputation of disregarding God's wisdom and instead following our own
foolish ideas. This is in regard to whom we would follow right down the line to
what would be important to us. This included what we would eat, drink and how
we would live. God told us to eat the "seed-bearing plant on the face of the
whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it", Genesis 1:29, in
other words, fruits, seeds, nuts and grains. (By the way, He gave the green
plants for the animals to eat.) We were to eat in addition the fruit from the
tree of life. From these foods, we would receive all the nourishment we would
need to live forever. After the fall, however, we would no longer have access
to the tree of life, and thus would no longer live forever. At that time God
told us to add to our diet the plants of the field, greens, vegetables, Genesis
3:18. This addition would replace the necessary nutrients, needed for a healthy
body, (not an everlasting one),that we would no longer be receiving from the
tree of life.. On this diet, man lived to an average age of 912 years without a
single recorded instance of sickness! It was not until after the flood, when
man had grown so wicked that God regretted creating man and so destroyed the
earth, that God gave permission for man to eat certain meats that were to be
prepared in certain ways. In less that 10 generations on this type of
lifestyle, man's average age went from 912 to 100 years of age. Today that
average is about 70! What we are encouraging is for us to return to the
lifestyle God originally told us to follow for good health. In so doing, we
believe that we can give our bodies the nutrients that God created us as
needing, in order to rebuild our much depleted immune system and also to build
healthy cells for a healthier body.
I believe ths explanation to be correct.

I'm not that up on the bible, but if I was you I would take the religious
nuts with a pinch of salt -they use the bible as a source for their own
ignorance.
If they had only taken the time to read and understand the bible, they would
see that milk and animals are included as goodies to eat.
(Try a google search 'hallelujah diet dangerous' and or look on the
Hallelujah Acres site - you will see that they now advocate vitamin B12 in
supplement form in their vegan diet)
A completely vegan diet (Genesis?) lacking in vitamin B12 would eventually
put you at risk from a deficiency of B12.
The body has large stores of B12 as it is needed to make various body
machinery including DNA,blood cells and also myelin nerve sheaths.
Older (more natural/better?) farming methods would have contained
contaminants (from insects/bacteria?) which would have added to the bodies
B12 stores.
Argument :-
We have strong HCL in our guts which is used to break down animal proteins
and to make B12. We have canine teeth 'designed' to process meat.
Herbivores are mostly lacking in these features i.e. we are not herbivores.

The only thing meat might contain that a veggie might need is vitamin B12.
Even that is arguable since the real B12 deficiency is very, very rare, even
among vegans.

The doctor of the future will give no poisonous medicine in the vain attempt to
poison the sick into getting well.
The doctor of the future will interest the patient in the care of the human
frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease, and a medical
theory which will not include bacteria, viruses, retro-viruses, prions. or
auto-immune excuses as the cause of any disease.
That would at least bring today’s allopathic medicine, Western medicine, up
to the level of scientific medical data available in 1870.

Can't agree.
A human can eat like an omnivore and fill their body with all manner of
disease, but humans do not need or miss animal components.
Quoted message said:Humans are 'designed' to eat animal/insect products - they produce a

Humans were not designed to eat animal products. We do not have claws,
powerful jaws to crush bones, large teeth to rip into tough hides, etc, etc.
We eat animal products because we can and don't know any better.
By the way, human enzymes pale in comarison to the carnivore's enzymes for
digesting protein. Ours was designed for plant protein, not animal protein.
The added problem of raw versus cooked adds another dimension to the difficulty
of digesting animal flesh for the human.

The effort and the purpose of Christ's life was spiritual, not nutritional.
The nutritional answer can be found in the Bible, however. It came from the
Father, not the Son. Why repeat Dad's effort?

No, they would not. The words milk, meat, food, etc. are used without
regard to their factual truth. The Bible clearly states this. The
construction of man from his mouth to his anus, and the enzymes
therein contained confirm that man is a frugivore ( nuts, certain
seeds, plants, and mainly fruits ) and not a gramivore, nor a
carnivore, nor any other -ore you can name.
Man was given "PERMISSION" to eat meat. Man was never created to eat

This is correct. The scientific study was made and the
recommendations put out. Are they really neeeded is still arguable.
To me, this makes no sense at all. B12 deficiency is a very, very
rare disease, if it is even diagnosed correctly. What the human body
needs is B12 precursors coming in. Intrinsic factor ( whatever that is
) is produced by the stomach to transport the B12 on to the illeum
where it can be absorbed. In the small intestine, the resident
bacteria will combine the precoursers with cobalt to form B12. Many
animals excrete quantities of B12 due to the presence of cobalt and
the B12 forming bacteria. It is also taught that B12 cannot be
absorbed from the colon, even though the feces may contain large
amounts of B12.
I have a hard time accepting the claim that HEALTHY humans, vegan or
otherwise, need additional B12. I have a hard time accepting that a
healthy colon would not and could not absorb any needed B12 existing
there. An unhealthy colon is another matter.

Well, here you are correct. Man is not an herbivore. We do not have

It is interesting to see the diseases that the herbivores get when
forced to eat meat. Diseases like mad cow and others come to mind.

lactoovovegetarians, and 26% lower in vegans."

From what I've personally observed, come hell or high water, genetics
must play a big part in both health and longevity regardless of diet.
My husband & his family going way back are all VERY heavy meat-eaters

beat in living into their late 80ties & more often, their mid-90ties, &
being quite healthy in doing so. My husband also HAS to have his

consumer, but his meat-eating habits stuns me. Both his cholesterol &
blood pressure are always in the low-normal range,
