What has happened to the Soapbox?

They would say that, wouldn't they?
Zapper was in the US Navy all his life.

FC, no further comments on the Soapbox and it's lack of "color " for a better term?

I started lurking in the soapbox and became interested in what others had to say. At one time the soapbox seemed to have an intelligent line of interaction.
It has quieted down as of late. Could this not be due to ineptitude & corruption in the highest level of gov't has jaded many of us here so as to inure or deaden us to the ever worsening decisions made by our foriegn policy executores
The soapbox has an interesting side to it for me in that certain subjects that are totally European are discussed. I learn things that would be impossible to learn otherwise.
Agreed. I knew virtually nothing of the ongoing isaraeli/palestinian conflict.
And some of the Bush bashers get old. They turn every topic into a Bush bashing thread. This is America, and everyone has a right to attack those that have been voted into office.
Hamas was voted into office. Also, remember Ohio
The liberals in America seem to have an "frustrated elitist" attitde and usually are not from a working class. The European liberals seem to be a realistic political party where the liberals in America have little political power, and what they have is contained in a few spots in America.
The soapbox can be improved.
I like "Limousine-Liberals", myself ;)
I have posted only @ 5 times in the last month but I do lurk to see if there is anything worth responding to.
