  1. or some other dumbass who started the trend of bringing your child to
    the podium?

Whoever it was, they should be [censored]-slapped. It may have been cute
the first time it happened, but it has gotten completely and utterly
    out of control!

Rasmussen takes the cake, but they all looked pretty stupid. I'd like
to see a moratorium on taking tots to the podium.

Retch. It wasn't cute the first time.

Allow me. When I saw Armstrong had his daughters pimped out on the
podium I turned off the television. Nothing good was going to
follow. We have rituals in our culture. One is the award
presentation. Stand on the podium, smile, wave, accept the award,
air kiss the podium girls, shake hands with the organizing
body's representative. Walk off. When offered an opportunity to
    say something say "Thank you."

Side rant: Marriage ceremony. There is a millennia old script for
this one. It is old because it works. Follow the script. I hate it
when some young and stupid couple "design" their own wedding.

Is that what that was? I thought that France was now offering up its
firstborn as prizes to the overall winners. It sure seemed that way.

The other oddity is that I thought when Lance made his short "this is
for all the haters" speech from the podium at last year's tour, that it
was the first time (at least in recent memory) that the tour winner had
been invited to speak from the podium like that. But this year Floyd got
handed the microphone too, and said something nice. Oh yeah, he
dedicated it to the team owner.

Which is kind of like thanking your agent.

Um yes, Rasmussen gets prize for most ridiculous baby outfit, but I'd
like to have a brief word with Robbie McEwan for apparently naming his
child Ewan (don't know if that's the spelling he uses).

Not that I should talk: my mother told me that she came pretty close to
    naming me Beau Cousineau.

I probably would have ended up a rollerblader,

Too me, it's offensive. As offensive as those "baby on board" signs I
use to see inside the back of car windows, while riding. I thought of
putting one on the back of my bike, but I knew how much it [censored]

    they are already at you.

Others have different opinions on how to raise their children. Lance's
mother was pretty good but he never had a father figure and has had to wing
it. You don't like it? Suck oats.

Secondly, you can't possibly think it would be any big risk to
[censored]-slap that skinny lil' punk. What's he weigh, about 130? I've
taken dumps that weigh more than that.

Next time Rasmussen is in the Quad Cities area, I'll be glad to
    "discuss" the matter with him.

We designed our own wedding. Of course we were old. I'll let others
    judge whether we were stupid.

i agree... can't people leave their kids out of anything? ALthough I
admit, the kids are cute. But yes, it's kind of sickening already. Okay,
