I don't have to :p

And so as I rip the plastic cover open to gain access to issue 4 of Uni
there is distinct smell of 'hot of the press'. I tentatively check to
see if the ink is dry - it is - and now for some reading, the old
fashioned way :D

I wonder if I'm still subscribed through the Unicycling Society of
America? They were doing this deal were they replaced On One Wheel with
UNI for awhile, but of course, that was almost a year ago.

Are you seriously telling us that your post arrives by 08:23? If I came
home for lunch, I'd be lucky if the postman arrived before I had to go
back to work for the afternoon.

Anyway, from a quick look through it it appears to be up to the
standards that we've come to expect. On the matter of revenue
(mentioned in the editorial), I noticed that the magazine has far fewer
adverts than any other print magazine that I know of. I would have no
objection to the magazine getting a lot more revenue from advertising.

The USA President told me recently that the Uni Magazine deal for USA
members in good standing is still on. Members are supposed to receive a
total of six issues of Uni Magazine. In other words, if you received
the first three issues of Uni Magazine as result of the USA deal, then
you will receive Number 4 and two future issues (depending, of course,
on if there are future issues beyond Number 4). If you were a USA
member in good standing and were already subscribed to Uni Magazine,
your existing Uni Magazine subscription will be extended by six
issues.

The President said that members in good standing will also receive the
quarterly On One Wheel, which is now being printed in-house and
self-distributed by USA volunteers as a newsletter.

Errr, no Daniel. It actually came at 09:23, unless you forgot to put
your clocks forward...

But that's the exception as opposed to the rule; it usually arrives at
about 10:20, or as late as 11:20 if there's a parcel as well.

I didn't, but page 7 of this thread says that your post was made at
08:23.

BTW it's Danny, I haven't answered to Daniel for 20 years.

Looking at it now it does indeed say 08:23... if you're not logged in,
where this forum defaults to GMT all year round.

Mine's arrived as well. Haven't read it yet but a quick flick through
suggests it's as good as the other three - lots of high-quality
pictures. Shame it looks like being the last one though.

Mike: If you haven't got time to produce a quarterly magazine, rather
than waiting "until the market broadens sufficiently" to make it a
viable full-time job (which will be a very long time I suspect), would
it be worth making it perhaps an annual publication - a review of the
year's main events? You've shown us you're capable of producing a
high-quality mag that people want to read, but struggle to get them out
so frequently. I'm surprised there's enough good unicycling material
around to fill a whole magazine that often anyway, regardless of any
other problems. Whatever you decide to do, thanks for having the guts
to try it in the first place, and good luck. I hope we see more of
your publications in the future.

I don't know how I feel about that. My mailbox just seems really big
and empty today.

Happy Birthday, though, Intotheblue. Getting a bit old now, aren'tcha?

My copy arrived today!

It looks good so far, hopefully the magazine will carry on, it would be
a real shame if it didn't. Good luck with sorting things out Mike, I am
sure if we are kept up to date, we will all be willing to wait.

Looks like it:p Haha only joking, I'm sure it will arrive soon.

I got mine today, I haven't read much yet but I reckon it looks like
the best one yet, the cover in particular looks fantastic. I was also
really pleased to see that there's a photo I took in there (the
editorial one of Mike), and I'm even in a couple of others, although
you have to look pretty hard to spot me:D

The best thing though about receiving the mag is that reading it has
actually got me motivated to go riding for the first time in weeks!

It seems the mag is getting better with every issue and I think it'll
be a shame if this is the last issue. I saw Mike's post about changing
the printers the other day, hopefully this indicates that there may be
a way to keep the mag going. There's loads of great stuff about
unicycling on this website and many others, but I reckon there's loads
about a printed mag that sets it apart, for example how good photos
look on paper, also that I can show the mag to family and friends to
show them the kind of things I do on my unicycle, and what the best
riders are capable of (which never fails to impress everyone who sees
it!). My fingers are crossed that there will be more issues!

Don't suppose you get much time for other riding with all the Mountain
