Uni magazine issue 4

Mike - does the e-mail address on the site (info@unicyclemagazine) get
checked? I'm not bothered about when the magazine turns up, but I've
moved since I subscribed. I've e-mailed that address with new details,
but not recieved anything confirming that anyone's read it. I'd prefer
not to wait this long for the magazine to go to an empty house.

Sorry to bring this up on a public forum, but if there was another
option then I wouldn't have to post this anyway.

When I moved last year I sent a PM to mikepenton using these forums, and
got an instant response from him confirming the address change.

I'm so glad that I am not a subscriber.

For a magazine to be this late is unacceptable. The news given out
about the delays has been minimal and most of the news in the magazine
will now be old news.

I wouldn't pay for a meal in a restaurant if the service was this bad.
If I had a subscription I would have cancelled it and demanded my money
back.

The subscribers seem loyal but 9 months late is a long time, I could
have had a baby in the length of time people have been waiting for this
magazine.

It being 'late' is just one of those things, it won't be anyone's fault,
just things going wrong here and there and delaying everything else.
The date it was set to be released will have been a hope, and I think
it's alot for such a small team to put together.

I know that however long it takes it will still be worth it, and that
we shouldn't be getting cross or trying to point the blame on someone.
I'd like to wish the magazine makers luck, support and success with
their efforts and if there's anything that I can do to help, then
please ask.

All the best guys! Looking forward to it! :)

I think that people are falling in to one of three categories here;

- Love the mag so much that they aren't bothered if it's late or not
- Hate the fact that delays happen and getting angry
- Accept that delays happen, but just really upset about the lack of
communication

Personally I fall in to the third category. I can put up with delays,
and appreciate that some things don't always go to plan. What really
bugs me though is the lack of information coming forward about why, or
when it is likely to be ready.

Actually, I don't think so. The last we heard, the magazine was ready
for printing. We've heard nothing since. :>

Really? Is there something you haven't been telling us?

It's like The Catch* all over again, but more so.

* For those who weren't members of the 90's UK juggling scene, The
Catch was the UK juggling magazine. It was edited (and largely
written) by Stuart and Jan Ashman, who were also professional
entertainers. Other work got in the way of producing the magazine,
which meant that it was invariably late (never anywhere near this late,
though). It was always worth the wait, and is sadly missed.

Or a fourth option, which is me
. Sad that it's late and their's no communication but resigned to
waiting because there's no other option (I can hardly cancel my
subscription and buy a different unicycling mag instead now can I?)

It would be nice to hear what is happening. I am really looking forward
to getting the mag, but a quick update on progress would answer a few
questions.

It is a pity that this is the way that it is working out with the
magazine. One of the things I was looking forward to when taking out a
subscription, was that I would have a regular supply of unicycle
related reading, but it doesn't look like this is going to be the
case.

I love the magazine, it is a really good product, and it would be a
shame if the problems harm the name of it, and put a lot of people off.

I am pretty patient and will wait. But I would like to know that they
still plan to mail it and continue to produce it. At this point, I
don't know whether they have closed up shop or are just having more
delays for whatever reason. I suspect the later, but the longer it
goes, the more one wonders.

On the positive side since my USA membership supposedly extended my UNI
magazine subscription, at the current rate of production, my
subscription shouldn't run out til the end of the decade. Sorry - bad
joke.
