    1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?

1403 km, or 871.7 miles. I ran about 4 times between March and
    September.

    Quoted message said:

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?

Since the upcoming week ends in 2006, I can't use it, or it would
have been the highest by a few km. ;-) ... that's not saying much
in this, the spottiest of years since I started running in May 2005.
In other words, the highest was 110km (68.3 miles), just the week
before last. The lowest was 0.... many, many weeks of it.

    Quoted message said:

    3. What was your longest run?

    28km / 17.4 miles, just last week.

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

I entered a very hilly new year's day 3 miler last year and jogged
in a 5k fun run a few months ago, but that's about it.

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

    n/a

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

The first few runs in September when I was starting to get back
into it again. I moved to a new house and it felt like a fresh start
    with new routes and everything.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

Nothing really insane yet this year.

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

    ugh, and n/a.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

I'm hoping to run a good ATB30k, then a may marathon. After
    that, who knows.

    1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?

    1620 miles so far.

    Quoted message said:

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?

    99.6 miles/0 miles

    Quoted message said:

    3. What was your longest run?

West Highland Way race (95 miles)

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

    About 15

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

Hmm... well my worst race time would probably be my first DNF but in many
respects, it wasn't bad at all as it was the right decision following an
injury. My worst performance (relative to my fitness) was probably the
London marathon where I stuck to a hopelessly optimistic pace ignoring the
    conditions and suffered horribly.

My best? Hard to choose between my 5K PB in February of 19:25 or my 95 mile
race in June where I had to deal with a knee that locked up after just 20
    miles.

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

It would have to be the biggy. Can't wait to do it again.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

    Nothing too crazy this year.

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

I had hoped to do a 3:15 marathon but messed that up. My big ambition was
just to finish the West Highland Way race and I managed that, if outside my
    original time goal of 24hrs.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

Sub 24 (hrs) for the WHW! Would like to get my 5K time to low 19s, maybe
even 18:59. Half marathon sub 1:30, marathon, 3:15

    Roughly 2,500. I don't keep a log book.

    Quoted message said:

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?

10(post long race recovery week) 65(the week of a race)

    Quoted message said:

    3. What was your longest run?

A pair of 50 mile races.

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

5 in the 50k or longerr and a few dozen in 5-20k.

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

They were all good, just some were more rewarding than others. I'm a
good judge of my condition so I set times to match my training. I never
compare times year to year because I'm never in the same condition each
year plus the course always changes so it it senseless to compare.

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

    Vermont 50 in late September.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

Some unwelcomed heat and mud in an April race with no chance to
    acclimate to the heat.

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

Pretty much. I missed a race in June due to a nagging adductor injury
    from a muddy race.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

HAT 50k March 25 (run easy)
Bull Run 50 Mile April 8th
Laurel Highland 50k(just added as a distance) or a couple legs of the 70
    mile relay June 10th
    Vermont 100 July 15-16
    Vermont 50 September something

Goal for each - to drink a Heineken after I cross the finish line.

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

(4): a 5k, Double Trouble 30k trail run, 30k Escarpment trail run, Vermont
    50 mile trail run

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

Hard to gauge in trail races, but the way I'll rate best is most enjoyable
and strong performance through to the end = Escarpment trail run. I also met
my modest goal there of breaking 4.5 hours, the median time. The worst must
be the Vermont 50 mile because I was somewhat overtrained and it was a very
hard effort for me, though I was able to run until the very end (excepting
some uphills). Making the best of tough circumstances could be looked at as
my 'best' race. I don't evaluate things purely based on placing or fastest
    time.

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

Escarpment trail run - it was a total blast.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

Nothing strange. Racing in pea-soup humidity at double-trouble in the mid
    90's f was fun!

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

Escarpment trail run in top 50%, check; Vermont 50 mile in under 10 hours,
    close.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

Running wise, for now just the Escarpment trail - in close to or under 4
hours. I'm not sure about races other than that. I want to get out to
explore more hiking trails, both running and hiking.

    Quoted message said:

    ....
    (added question)
    11. What did I learn about running this year?

In terms of training I learned stuff about overtraining, my recovery rate,
and resting after big events like the 50 miler. The most important thing
I've learned is getting down to a lighter weight. It lets you train more and
    at the right effort.

Happy New Year all rec runners.

NMMC Heart Run 5K. First in age but worst time.

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

Grand Master winner at the Mexico Beach Sandy Shores 5K. Small
unsanctioned race gives an old slow guy a chance to be a grand masters
winner.Since we were all gathered for vacation all three of my sons,
a daughter in law, a nephew, and a brother in law ran the same race.
Fun to run with that much family. The "family" took 2nd, 3rd overall,
and grand masters in male and first overall in female. Would have
had first in male, however, number three son who was two minutes ahead
was sent down the wrong road by the lead vehicle. (did I mention this
was a small usanctioned race) He came back, losing approximately two
minutes and missed first by 14 seconds.

    Quoted message said:

    1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?

About 3400 miles. My week is typically 4 easy days, 2 moderate/hard days,
and one medium long run, in a hard/easy pattern.

    Quoted message said:

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?

90 / 40 (last week before marathon, or week after the 50m)

    Quoted message said:

    3. What was your longest run?

    50 miles (Avalon 50)

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

    Jeez, 4-5 shorter trail races (3.5 to 13.1 miles), a 50k, 50m, a marathon.

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

I finished 'em all, and didn't embarass myself too much. I wasn't in top
shape (or was sick) for any of them, so they weren't too bad.

Surprised myself getting 6th overall at the 50m after being pretty feverish
and sick the day before. Low point was the marathon, where I stupidly
didn't train on downhill pavement and I blew my quads out before the half, a
    real pain-fest.

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

    Many gorgeous Saturday long runs.
The 50k was memorable in that I finished it in full rotating cramp mode in
    100+ heat.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

Just a couple of 95-100 degree races, and getting slapped around by 50 mph
gusts on a trail run a few weeks ago.

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

Just to try and get a bit faster. No, but I had a very good and healthy
year, and had lots of fun.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

After playing with Hadd aerobic conditioning this year, I'll be adding
speedwork, and see if that gets me a notch or two faster. I hit 73% wava in
'05, and I think I can get better, but don't think I'll see my youthful 80%
unless I lose those 12 lbs (although some family members think I'm too
    thin!)

    Quoted message said:

    10. Do you have a favorite running-related quote to share?

Make the runs that count, count.

  13. SwStudio said:

    1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?

Hmmm...should it be miles or kilos? I like kilos here, sounds like a
lot more than I did, so approximately 1772 kilos. Okay, okay, about
1100 miles, give or take. But did do well over 6000 miles on the bike
and not near enough in the pool---only about 92 miles swimming.

And yeah, I know the question was about running. ;-)

    Quoted message said:

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?

Didn't do any giant weeks---highest perhaps 45, lowest maybe like 15.

    Quoted message said:

    3. What was your longest run?

Marathon at the end of Ironman Florida.

    Quoted message said:

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?

3 running races, 1 Ironman, 2 half Ironmans, 2 Olympic distance and 1
sprint tri. Not a lot of racing.

    Quoted message said:

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?

My half marathon split at the Cali-Man half Ironman in September, just
over 1:40 leading to a 22 minute PR at the HIM distance of 5:15. Worst
was at IM Florida, a lovely 6:01 marathon, still managing a 13:31
overall time which should have been at least a couple hours faster. Oh
    well, next year...

    Quoted message said:

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?

Probably the first trail run I did in a long while on Thanksgiving Day.
Remembered what it's like to run without worrying about time goals and
how absolutely cathartic running on trails in the wild can be.

    Quoted message said:

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?

Nothing really sticks out as crazy weather wise this year.

    Quoted message said:

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

Wanted to do an 11:XX at Ironman Florida, and no I did not achieve my
    goal.

    Quoted message said:

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

Sticking with the triathlon theme, a respectable time at Ironman
Arizona in April and then let it all hang out in Florida in November.
Oh, and raise some money in the Janus Charity Challenge for IM Florida
as well, but that subject is for another time.

    Quoted message said:

    10. Do you have a favorite running-related quote to share?

It's not running related but certainly can apply, and I think I've
written it here before---Winston Churchill's "when you're going through
    hell, keep going..."

Very appropriate on more than a few occasions this year.

    Mike C

  14. Thank you David.

    1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?
Over a thousand miles: I expect at least 1012 (1626 Kilometers) by
Saturday. (To me the thousand mile mark is a big thing -- in 2004, my
first year of running, I did 430.6.) I will have 237 "run days" this
year, averaging a little over 45 minutes per workout, with 37 days
    over one hour.

    2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?
Highest 7-day period 31.3 miles beginning of October; highest Monday
through Sunday training week 28.7 mid-October; lowest = 0 total for
January 10 through January 22 due to illness.

    3. What was your longest run?
    Nine miles.

    4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?
Five: (4) 5K's, and the first leg (5.9 miles) of the California
    International Marathon "Relay Challenge".

    5. What were your best and worst race performances?
Best was the October 30 5K, a personal best at 25:31. Worst was a
    26:42 5K on a hot smoggy morning October 1, when I experienced
"intestinal distress" at about mile 2.

    6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?
Wow. So many memorable days and evenings. My favorites are the times
that included seeing wild creatures up close: osprey, deer, foxes --
and owls and bats at night. But the real "red letter day" was 10
June, taking my (then 15 year old) daughter for her first run (she's
    hooked now!).

    7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?
Let's see -- was it 101°F on 11 August? Yeah, that was the craziest.

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?
Measurable goals: 5K under 27:30 in first half of 2005 -- got 26:35 in
April; 5K under 26:00 in second half of 2005 -- got 25:31 in October.
Subjective goals achieved: Running helped me cope with my father's
cancer and his death in September -- running in the C.I.M. Relay, and
making the 1000 miles, were "for dad".

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?
5K under 25:00 in 2006. On my way to a 10K under 50 minutes (some
    day!).

    10. Do you have a favorite running-related quote to share?
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." -- Theodore
    Roosevelt
"Running is a mysterious journey that we take not just to beat other
people or to stay in reasonable physical shape -- but to find out more
    about ourselves." -- Owen Anderson

    1,820 miles in 284 runs. 62,000 miles since 1977.

    8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?

Run all year without injury. 2003 and 2004 broke a 25 year
streak with whiplash and meniscus injuries.
Stability shoes and minimizing concrete are most
    important.

    9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?

293 imjury-free days of running and mountain climbing.
I'm generally on a 6 rest days a month cycle.

  17. 4,596 miles. for year.
most all of them on a bike.

this all might not be true. if interested.

    star of bethleham research.
    chickens in the hen house.
every one telling there alive still.
we got 2 or 3 inch snow. so white ever were again. and yesterday I was
saying we were getting cheated on christmas snow......well it is going t
    be awhile new years.

the dog star is a good possible star of bethleham. dog star b not a.
    under orion the hunter.
    had a thought.
in olden time they speak of 13 zodiacs.
    now there are 12 zodiacs.
we change from aries (3 stars now)
      to pices. a 2 fish,
was a dragon at olden time thou Sagittarius might be now. the tail is
curved and there is a check.
    so what if.
    a missing zodiac.
    06 b.c. jesus born.
07 b.c. change zodiac from aries to 2 fishes. there is dog star b blows
    up.
there is a jupiter ghost (follows jupiter) there is jupiter.
    there is saturn.
they speake of a moon equlipes and blood red sky.
    all rise from day end
6 a.m. being start of clock back then.
6 hours into or high noon.
    jesus is born.
    say december 25,- -06 b.c.
    were is the 13 zodiac.
and why do aries only have 3 stars.
and why do tail turn. on 2 fish.
and we know why sirus b and jupiter ghost turn into nebulas.

so 3 wise men see a great light into the sky above bethleham. and they
speak of orions belt to follow the path to bethleham.
    belt is 50°
every thing adds up o 50° or close to it. of course all the info and
numbs, were not total crunch to pan all this out 100%. butt it is a
    thought,

the ball falls tonight at New York time square.
I well print this and send to rec running group on my only star of
bethleham post. I only one in it. with out your adds of corces.
    biking year round.
