SwStudio said:1. How many miles/kilometres did you run this year?
Hmmm...should it be miles or kilos? I like kilos here, sounds like a
lot more than I did, so approximately 1772 kilos. Okay, okay, about
1100 miles, give or take. But did do well over 6000 miles on the bike
and not near enough in the pool---only about 92 miles swimming.
And yeah, I know the question was about running. ;-)
Quoted message said:2. What were your highest and lowest mileage weeks?
Didn't do any giant weeks---highest perhaps 45, lowest maybe like 15.
Quoted message said:3. What was your longest run?
Marathon at the end of Ironman Florida.
Quoted message said:4. How many (if at all) races did you enter?
3 running races, 1 Ironman, 2 half Ironmans, 2 Olympic distance and 1
sprint tri. Not a lot of racing.
Quoted message said:5. What were your best and worst race performances?
My half marathon split at the Cali-Man half Ironman in September, just
over 1:40 leading to a 22 minute PR at the HIM distance of 5:15. Worst
was at IM Florida, a lovely 6:01 marathon, still managing a 13:31
overall time which should have been at least a couple hours faster. Oh
well, next year...
Quoted message said:6. Do you have a favorite, memorable run that you did this year?
Probably the first trail run I did in a long while on Thanksgiving Day.
Remembered what it's like to run without worrying about time goals and
how absolutely cathartic running on trails in the wild can be.
Quoted message said:7. What was the craziest weather you endured while running?
Nothing really sticks out as crazy weather wise this year.
Quoted message said:8. What were your goals for 2005? Did you achieve them?
Wanted to do an 11:XX at Ironman Florida, and no I did not achieve my
goal.
Quoted message said:9. What are your goals for 2006 (and beyond)?
Sticking with the triathlon theme, a respectable time at Ironman
Arizona in April and then let it all hang out in Florida in November.
Oh, and raise some money in the Janus Charity Challenge for IM Florida
as well, but that subject is for another time.
Quoted message said:10. Do you have a favorite running-related quote to share?
It's not running related but certainly can apply, and I think I've
written it here before---Winston Churchill's "when you're going through
hell, keep going..."
Very appropriate on more than a few occasions this year.
