Tour Not Clean yet: at least one rider sample positive

It's a name rider? Did you mean the rider's name?
I guess WBT means a star, a well know rider. That's what i saw in German forums to but we have to be patient, makes no sense to speculate about the name of the rider here...

Oh.
Well, go argue on what is considered to be 'a name'.

And so, we wait.

UCI president Pat McQuaid told AFP he would be dismayed if the test was confirmed but vowed no let-up in the war on drug cheats.

"From my point of view it's intolerable and we're determined to root out this problem and deal with it," Mcquaid said in a telephone interview.

"At the moment I'm concerned over the A sample result. If the B sample turns out to be positive, I'll be angry."

Stop making guesses people. that is totally unfair on the guys who it isn't and is a slur on them. wait and see. i have my guesses as well but i suggest we keep them to ourselves for the time being.
i couldn't agree more. it's completely unfair and totally uncalled for. btw bet it was landis.

Actually,

1. Pereiro
2. Kloden
3. Gontchar
4. Kessler

I bet it was Bruyneel. He probably fired up a joint after watching his team collapse.

Cyril Dessel came out of nowhere, held the yellow jersey, and "rode like a man possessed" in the mountains. Bet it was him.

I don't think possession has been added to WADA's doping substances and methods list yet. And with all the projectile vomitting, it is hard to keep food down so you tend to bonk.

Landis?

Landis was selected to drive the criterium "Acht van Chaam" in Holland. He would get € 50.000 to show up there and ride.

But a couple minutes before the start he doesn't show up...know why didn't he show up?? A couple of hours after the message that 1 rider was not clean...he didn't want to ride anymore.

But yesterday everything was fine....he even won. And today he didn't want to ride?? something is wrong here.

Now his team says that he had to go to see his doctor because he was getting trouble with his dying hip.

The reporters tried to talk with John Lelangue but he didn't want to talk

It is said that the rider is not from Spain, France, Italy and Belgium.

It's a name in the peleton and possible in the top 10 of the tour.

(Sorry for my poor english....i'm just from Holland:D )

Michael Boogerd seemed to do a lot better than expected - he didn't make the top 10 tho' [14th].

The Times is speculating that it's Landis:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,28910-2287959,00.html

"According to sources in France, the rider concerned is said to have tested positive for testosterone after last Thursday’s stage through the Alps to Morzine, which was won, after a 130-kilometre solo breakaway, by Floyd Landis, of the United States. Landis went on to secure overall victory in the 2006 Tour, which finished in Paris on Sunday."

that doesn't say they think it's landis. they're saying that a rider tested positive after that stage, which was won by landis. aren't there a bunch of riders that get tested every day?

Et tu, Landis?

Well, this sucks. Although I thought testosterone was fairly easy to test for and was detectable for quite a while after you take it. It seems strange that Landis would use something that was detectable when he was going for a stage win and would be tested if he succeeded. But then again, who would have thought Heras would use EPO when he had the Vuelta well in hand.

Riders who had miraculous changes in performance during the race: Cunego, Landis, Pereiro.

exactly. why in the world would someone test positive for that? that's kind of obviously a no-no. and again, i've got my fingers crossed hoping that it's not him since the article doesn't really say that it is.
