assuming you are just dropping straight off. Instead of just dropping
straight off, try rolling out off the edge, or hopping as far out as
possible, it will hurt less and do less damage to your unicycle because
the momentum behind the launch will force you to roll out.

Well, I can brag about wearing KH gloves, elbow pads and knee pads. I
was riding over to the Monon Trail in Carmel, Indiana and thought I
could get across a busy street to the sidewalk. As I got across the
street, I noticed that there was a small drop-off to some grass before
the sidewalk. "No problem," I thought. Ouch. Did a nasty UPD and
tried to run it out. No way. The gloves and pads saved a LOT of grief
on my (still unscathed) hands and elbows. Thanks, Kris, for those
gloves! I might have to buy some more now.

Well I have big plans for my qu-ax. Today I painted the frame white and
ordered some new stuff for it. A KH gel street saddle (black/grey) and
some black jimmy c's. I also ordered some better inner tubes because I
have been using crappy ones that are paper thin and I have been going
through like 3 a week.

And after I make my uni look sweet, I will magically become a much
better rider and everyone will be jealous of my skills and of my uni!

It took me 15 or 20minutes.

Yeaaahh, I decided I wanted to learn how to grind yesterday. So I went
up to my skatepark and it somehow just clicked. I just went up to this
ledge real fast, jumped up, and the most amazing feeling ensued.

Oh yeah kind of a funny story. Coming back to the skate park for the
second time yesterday, I saw this one kid who's apparently ALWAYS up
there and shows off on his unicycle skills (or so I hear). I don't go
there too often so I've never seen him personally.

But as luck would have it, he's sitting right at the front when we get
there. So I get out of the car and me and a few friends approach him
and his friends. I don't have my uni in hand, but like I said as luck
would have it he had his. Immediately he just acts all cool cause
somehow he had heard from a friend that I can sort of unicycle. Well
needless to say my friends say, "so you can ride that unicycle Brian?"
(the kids name is brian). He responds with a,"Yeah I can ride it" with
one of those no-big-deal looks on his face. Right after he gets done
acting all hard and **** cause he can ride one wheel, my friends are
eggin me on to go get mine.

And apparently everyone thinks he's hot **** b/c he can ride a
unicycle, so I decided it was time for one of those "In your face, you
just got showed up" moments. I got to the car, come back, unicycle in
hand. He immediatley had one of those "OMG!" looks on his face b/c of
the steez my uni just drips as it sits there in all of its glory (Koxx
Effect baby!) So were not even in the skatepark yet, were just sitting
outside of the gates on some benches and I decide to hop up a bench
real quick just to show him whats up...then I do a little 180 out and
rode backwards for a bit just for that added style.

Needless to say he was instantly shown up and all of his friends knew
it, he was all like,"OMG how'd u do that!". Then I was all like, " Idk,
its not that hard really, you just gotta be able to ride one wheel
thats all". After that we decided to ride into the skatepark and do a
little unicycling. But right when we enter I did the sickest grind on
this ledge and he just didn't even come in. I think he left soon after
he realized that he wasn't near as good as he thought. :D ShOWN Up

Good story, I enjoyed. Tho I think it would have been alot cooler to
actually ride with the kid, maybe teach him a thing or two.

Thats what I was trying to do, but he just didn't even want to be
unicycling near me b/c he was so bad. I'm pretty sure he can just ride
and free mount.

BTW, he rides some off brand 16" I think. Hahah, he asked me how much
my uni was and I was all like,"Oh you know...something like
twelve-hundred dollars, no big deal or anything."

Getting more on the topic of this thread though, I totally am getting
better at grinds:) Grinding is soooo fun!
