Today I... (brag thread)

Did my longest ride on my 36 so far. Still a little away from the
qualifying distance, but I'm just waiting for two good consecutive
days. I did 25.8km in 1.5hrs. Average of about 17km/hr or 10mph.

Today I registered for a winter triathlon (will be unicycing the biking
part), sanded off the powder-coat and polished the sidewalls of my
airfoil, and found out that nobody in Prince Albert or Saskatoon have
Magura lines and olives so I can't fix my brake before the race.

The sidewalls are really shinny now :) hopefully it brakes smoother and
quieter now.

Thanks a lot for the compliment.
Maybe I learned a few cool tricks in the last 12 month (since I got my
KH20), but my problem is that I absolutely have no consistency and no
style in my riding.
I definitely do the ugliest Backflips in the world! *lol*
Sunday I needed more then 10 attempts to land a hickflip, usually I
land one out of three.
I have to relearn Varials and Bigspins completely new...

but back to the brag;) : Yesterday I practiced really hard and it took
me almost a hour to land 3 more rolling 5Spins. :D
@Emile: Try them rolling! The feeling is so much better and the bails
are not so hard and painfull like static 5spins, trust me.

Isaac? You did what? But you can Backflip since 2weeks or so.
Thats why I thought you could crankflip for a long time.

Sorry for my English.

I always did them rolling. I can't practice right now, I need to wait
for my CF base.... about one or two weeks. :(

Today I went about 50 or 60ft in the parking lot before I took a massive
spill and bashed my head and back off the ground :) Wearing a helmet
thankfully.

That is the longest I've gone yet, but today is the first day I've
owned my own unicycle :D

Today I got my 36er race ready for the triathlon I am doing sunday. My
rim is shinny, my breaks are bled, cranks are swapped out, the longer
seatpost is on and the new snafus are ready for action.

Today I had a fun wreck.

There is a skinny, about 2inches wide, and it had a short runup to the
end of it. From the edge of the skinny, there is a 6ish foot gap, maybe
a bit bigger, that goes to another concrete ledge thats about 1 foot
below the skinny, and about 1 foot wide. From the wider ledge, it just
goes into a steepish grass hill that eventually gets to a sidewalk.

Kinda like this.
25644

Anyways, I hopped onto the skinny, and went for a rolling hop to the
other ledge. I wasnt fully comfortable getting speed on the skinny, but
tried anyways. Landed just an inch short and hit the ledge and flew off
the uni. Should of been fine, and I could see the grass coming towards
me, but then all of the sudden I rolled midair, and landed on my back.
Then rolled another time.

It was fun. I wish I got it on film.

I know how you feel, I'm at a similar stage in flat unicycling. I think
that's about the same kind of distance I'm pulling before falling over!
Have you gone straight for the Nimbus to start unicycling on?!

Cool! What length triathlon? I was looking at a half-ironman in my
area in June but think they are expecting a bit higher speed than I'll
be able to pull off ... time to get a Schlumph hub I guess.
