I have been trying to learn to unicycle for about 2-3 months borrowing
other ppls unis. But i could only ever have a practice of about 30mins
then that would be it for a few days. I've had my own unicycle for
2weeks now. I just have a £30 freestyle unicycle. Nothing special, just
does the job for now. I'm going to upgrade as I go. I have already
snapped the seat!

It really isn't anything special!

SkierAlex, how long have you been riding?

I'm a similar age and I love seeing that people are still riding when
they are in their 30's. And at such a high level! I would hope that I
could reach that level by that time.
Kepp on riding.

Double rolling-wrap. Static backflips, and fakieflips. Nothing to hard,
but things that were getting pretty over due for me to learn.

Sounds good agentQ. The tricks sound quite similar to skateboard tricks
and I like the sound of all of them, especially fakieflips. One of my
favourite trick names is a cab180 or a fullcab.

I've got a big brag on it's way now... wait for it... drum roll
please...

-Today I rode down my first set of stairs, which were a set of 5 whilst
in the dark and wet!
-The next one was mounting my unicycle:
1. Rollback mount
2. Static mount (not sure if that has a proper name or whether that <
is it)
3. Rolling mount (both feet, right and left:D )
4. Jumping mount (also don't know the proper name to that one. It's the
one where the pedals are lined up and you jump directly onto them and
pedal off)
5. 180 unispin mount. **Very proud of that one**!

I also learnt how to hop off the 3rd step of some stairs, sideways to
stright (not sure what that is called either)

I'm not doing very well for names! Sorry, I'm still quite new. I'm just
really happy that I learnt so much in one day! If people want to tell
me what each trick name is then I'd really like to learn.

Today I...

Gave a "Ken Looi" Unicycle.com keyring to one of my new students,
Shaun, who rode across the whole court- about 50 meters, after a week
of practise. I've been teaching at his school (Merrilands) for a week
and he was the first to ride that distance- and as promised he got a
distance reward. Soon afterwards he rode across the court and back. I'm
so proud of my students!

If you can 180 jymp mount you must have plenty of confidence so go for
180 uni-spins! You definitely need leg armour though. Jumping from the
third stair isn't bad either.

And I've been riding around 5 months but only serious for 2-3 months -
that's when I got my trials uni :D

Yeah, I have had a few quick goes at 180 unispins. I'm going to pad up
later and have a proper session trying them.

Any other suggestions of progression?

PKHodgie, I really like the video. It has a lot of depths that many
other unicycling videos don't have. It also shows why you love the
sport so much. I agree with so much of it. Hopefully a fair few
non-unicycling people (yes, apparently they exist!) will see it and
finally understand 'Why?'.

Well, i did a lot yestarday, and some today.
I havent unicycled for a little while, ive just been skiing more so.
On my own, ive just been doing bs and fs 180s on skis, really fun, some
backwards carving, fun also. But yestarday, my friends forced me to
just bomb the hill and hit a kicker onto a flatbox. It was a smaller
little area you could gap, with a nice small landing. I was doing like
backside mutes off the jump, and landing with a huge squat, aparently i
got about 10ft of air of it also. It was a fairly harsh landing though,
i almost was casing the landing onto flat. Luckily, i only hit it like
that once, and i didnt hurt myself. w00ts, its getting warmer, but
windier... i hate wind... it makes things colder
