WTF. This is the I brag thread. NOt only are a lot of these comments not
bragging about anything, they make no sense.

unicyclejuggler-
You can just buy a slick 20" tire. It will be cheap enough that is is a
much better option than shaving your tire. The only reason anyone would
hand shave a tire is because you cant buy a slick 19" tire.

Now lets hear some bragging please.

Learnt 180 uni spins! Probably the hardest thing to learn so far for me.
I'm still pretty sketchy and don't land them all. But I'm really happy
I finally got it, all the time and effort paid off.

My advice to anyone else stay above the unicycle while in the air and
bring your legs before you land (don't be scared).

Well done SkierAlex. I've been trying them as well and I got quite close
but haven't quite got my feet back on without loosing balance and doing
all sorts of interesting stacks! It must be fun for people watching my
learn unispins!

p.s. good to see the thread has got back to subject!

Does it make much difference if you hopped SIF or SI? Is it harder to
hop SI?

its makes tons o' dfference when you get good.
its harder to learn how to ride SIF but when you get it it feels
natural..

I find that hopping sif is a lot easier and easier to get bigger
heights on, but it is hard to begin with, i learnt sif as soon as i
could hop up a curb si, which i regret doing now because i can only si
rolling hop about 30cm. Just practise it and do whatever feels natural
for you. Good luck :D

So the best bet is to learn both then! I will try some of SIF hops, but
I'm still getting the hang of SI hops. I got about 40cm to crank arm SI
y'day.:D My biggest yet. Plus I learnt to hop up onto my tyre from the
crank arm. My friend said it took him two weeks to learn it and I did
it in about 10 minutes! He was a little miffed!

today I actually got out and decided to stick the 360 unispin. I landed
about 15 of them. The first one felt amazing like the first of any
trick. I was rather ecstatic. Now I have to keep going to get
consistency and a bit of style. It is still about 4 hops before and 3
after and I want them to go away.

Not today, but yesterday, I went to the Toronto International Bicycle
Show with the bike shop that's sponsoring me for RTL. I wore their
jersey and rode around on my 36 and 19. I got to use the trials setup
with my uni that one company brought in. I also dropped in for the
first time on a pretty big quarter pipe.
I met a few unicyclists there, though no active forum members. I was
sort of disappointed that Darren didn't come in and have a booth.

Nice.

Now I can land like 80% of the 180 uni-spins! I think I can hop 35cm up
to my tyre + another 23cm to the crank and maybe more to the pedal.
Hopping SI is something I constantly practise and I will start SIF
soon. I also just learnt to go from crank to tyre, it's actually pretty
easy jus a little scary at first.

BTW, if you can jump from your crank to your tyre you should be able to
hop 25cm (half the height of the tyre) up onto your tyre. Maybe even
30-35cm if you do a decent pre-hop. You sound at a pretty similar stage
to me. How long have you been riding and what uni do you have?
