  1. All,

    I can't purchase all items just yet so... Can a Campy Chorus 04 brifters/triple fd/long rd/connex
10sp chain work on an Ultegra triple crankset with an Ultegra 12-27 cassette. What type shifting
    issues will occur ?

    Thanks...

    E

    Yes.

When you push the button or the lever, it will shift.

None, it'll work fine as long as you use a 9s chain, like a shimano one. The differences between the
cog ctr to ctr is such that Campagnolo 10s shifters and rear der will work with- Campagnolo 10s
    shimano 9s shimano 10s

just match the cogset to the chain.

There are no major issues. You can get a less expensive 9sp chain,
i.e. HG 72 and save the pricy 10 sp chain for when you need it.

Just to follow this a little further Peter, my Campy Chorus 9s works fine with a Shimano 9s rear
wheel, so if a Chorus 10s will work with a Shimano 9s then doesn't it follow that my Chorus 9 will
work with a Campy 10s?? Humm that doesn't make sense as I know it won't.

    It doesn't follow.

The error between Campagnolo 9 and Shimano 9 is tolerable, as is the error between Campag 10 and
Shimano 9. The difference is about 0.2mm per sprocket - overshift in the first case and undershift
    in the second.

The error between Campag 9 and Campag 10 is the sum of the two - 0.43mm per sprocket.

If you replace some of the 2.8 mm spacers with 2.5 mm spacers, it works so you can use up your Campy
    9 cassettes.
