And fond rememberances of my mother who died in 1977, and in whose
honour we still enjoy "Grandma's spaghetti" (the family name for her
recipe which is only stewed tomatoes with heaps of garlic, heaps of
cheese melted into it, thickened, and add heaps of noodles, salt and
pepper. It may not sound great, but it was her dish and we love it.

And rememberances of my father, who died in 1970. A keen sauce maker
in the days when I would not eat sauces. I really regret that now.

At New Year's my thoughts are always of my parents - Mom, who taught
me to cook (and died so young in 1968) and Dad who taught me to
appreciate wonderful food (and left us in 1999). Everytime I cook one
of her "old standards," it takes me back...and I know she'd be tickled.
Our special New Year's Eve dinner last night was her version of
Scampi. Good stuff.

Not really, only if 50 percent of the equation is accurate, if some
esoteric part of our being goes on after the death of its physical
envelope than we may be aware of the process and because of this have
some input to it.

On the other hand, if it don't, or does not, that when one is dead a
cessation of existence sets in and than it do not matter. One is dead
to whatever happens to the constituent elements that made up our being.
One won't even know that one has ceased to exist. Considering the
alternatives its an almost attractive point of view.

I'm betting on the former rather than the later though.

perfection of non existence, since the only thing that could be perfect

That is just untrue. I was responding to a claim by Carol that I was

I don't know where you arrived at your mistaken interpretation of my
intent. (I might mention, too, that it was not I who began this
thread, or who posted my religious beliefs to a cooking newsgroup.)
