Quote of the day (from non-riders)

A few i got this weekend:

''Do a bunny hop!'' - Wtf?! So of course I did and they get really
surprised! - Well you asked me to!

''Do a J-hop''

''Do a wheelie!''

''Can you drop in on that thing?''

''I bet you £50 you can't jump off that picnic bench'' - Well that was
a lie cos I never got paid!

And of course all the other common ones.

A few weeks ago while I still had the t7 handle on my coker, some guy
asked "where's your handle bar?". That always strikes me, but since I
had just put it on my coker I was a little confused. Then today an old
guy on a bike told me about how his wife used to ride and was in a
competition in Germany (but now something is wrong with her ear, so she
can't ride).

Wouldn't he actually be getting further away from 3 times Terry's age,
since they're both aging at the same rate?

I've heard that drinking maybe one glass of wide every night can have
some beneficial effects, but a *much* longer life? I doubt that. There
are so many factors that play into, and determine how long a person
will live, and the quality of life for that individual is dependant on
good genetics, proper diet, staying away from drugs, alcohol and
tobacco, etc. So a person in this category will generally live a
longer, healthier life, vs a non-fit person who smokes, is overweight,
non-active, etc., but "drinks in moderation".

I live a very healthy lifestyle now, but by not drinking *any* alcohol,
I don't feel that's going to shorten or reduce the quality of my life
at all. I do know that the French people tend to eat a diet that can be
very rich in fats and so by drinking wine, that helps to keep the
arteries from clogging up. Simply following a _healthy_, balanced diet
and getting regular vigorous excerise will do the same thing, without
alcohol.:)

I never go to these places but...
While a cute young girl dances naked on her magic blanket , I ask her
if she ever rode a unicycle.

She sez, "That's one wheel? I have seen people with two wheels ride on
one but never one wheel all by itself."

Whilst riding back from work today I had one bike rider pull along side
me and ask "I bet that's hard without gears". Then, 5 minutes later,
whilst stopped at traffic lights, a cabbie wound down his window and
asked "So, have you got any gears on that thing?"

I've ridden nearly 80 miles on my Schlumpf waiting for just that
question! :D

<thread jack>
no relation: my father (now 79) eats a lot, drinks wine and has never
seen any trace of "bad" cholesterol in his body ... I follow a
"healthy" life , practice regular execice and cholesterol would kill me
if I didn't get my little pill everyday :( .

last week as I was commuting back to home and was climbing the last

A cider every once in a while won't kill you, binge drinking is what
your statment would apply to

This is great, a 14 year old giving a 51 year old advice about
drinking.

Terry, good for you on your many years of sobriety.
