I haven't read any of his comments, as i've been too busy doing work for the Tour, so perhaps you can enlighten me. It's obviously publicly available then

At cyclingnews and velonews, printed and videos, OLN TV interviews...
Felt fine during prologue. Commented to Phil Liggett days later that he felt like he was ready to contend for the win. Then got sick before the first TT, lost 6 minutes. Eventually said "have an explanation for that", not feeling well, hopefully it will be behind him in a few days. Several days later on the stage the day before the main one in the Pyrenees, trouble keeping food in, lack of fuel for the last little climb of the day and lost 20(?) seconds. Felt better the next day, 2nd in the stage to Menchov. Warned his team director in the morning of the last stage in the Alps that he was not going to go well that day, flu in his team mentioned, relapse of previous? Tried to gain back the 6 minutes lost with some risky breaks, one was the long solo, but when the podium contenders started coming back to him (when Floyd cracked the contenders made extra effort to leave Floyd which brought them all up to Levi) he knew he wouldn't be able to get near the podium and since he's been 6th before he's not interested in killing himself for 9th, Then went for stage wins. Last TT didn't matter because he wasn't going to get podium.

When Floyd cracked he was asked that night, Was your hip bothering you? He replied, No. Would you tell us if it was bothering you? No.

  2. the real reason he didn't do well this tour is because he was too afraid to dope because of the recent allegations. i think thats true for a couple riders in the tour, they didn't want to get busted. it makes perfect sense, look at the last time he lost so much time in the time trials, it hasn't ever happened before!!

    not being a doper.

Did you mean 'not being a doper anymore'?

You can speculate about what he is or isn't doing right now, but 10 years ago he served a suspension from a doping infraction at crit nats.

That's interesting...I wonder why that's not in his wikipedia entry? 😉
