Sheesh! I leave out one little 😉 in my reply...
I figured by now y'all had heard me talking about 20" uphill sprints ( I do them almost weekly from February on) , and threshold intervals on a hill that finish with 30" sprints enough times that I could leave out the little 😉
I've enjoyed reading you guys go back and fourth. But what has improved his performance more than anything this year is who he is not riding against, thanks to operation puerto. Anyway, i've been watchig Vande Velde's video blog from europe, it's good for some inspiration. Seeing CV sit around talking racing with Levi, George, and his CSC teamates does more than any twenty second sprint could for me.
Since you seem to be such a buddy of Levi's, Warren, maybe you can clue us all in on why he lost another 6 min in today's TT...
He raced very well when he wasn't sick (twice), put himself in position to win some stages, and didn't bother to "kill" himself when it didn't matter. As he said yesterday, "I've already been 6th so I'm not interested in killing myself for 10th." When he was asked yesterday about next year's Tour of CA he replied that all he cares about is coming back to the Tour next year to win it.

Thank you, then, for opportunity to get my prediction on record early: Leipheimer won't win the Tour next year (and while I'm at it: I'm betting on Cunego in 2008).
Your delight has been duly noted. Another bridge burned.
We did try to warn you.
And beaten so soundly by guy riding a Powertap the whole way. Be interesting to see if Floyd had to have blood samples taken at the end of stages to test lactate and other things or did Mr Lim just rely on the data from the meter to tell him what was happening. An on board thermometer may have been a good idea for stage 16.
The "delight" I feel is for seeing you with egg on your face - I have no emotions one way or the other regarding Leipheimer's performance.
I have no egg on my face. Levi rode very well in spite of being sick during at least three crucial stages of the Tour and not being a doper. I can understand why he's already looking forward to the race next year.
So he gets sick and has a [censored] day, then is full of beans the next and is challenging for a stage win. Three times? Floyd's off day and bounce back is hard to fathom but your story is just BS. I think Levi just wasn't up to it and didn't have the goods in the stages that mattered.

You are ignorant of the facts, again. I won't say what has ailed him since he hasn't but it was nothing like a simple cold or bronchitis.

Warren, i'm curious: if he (Levi) hasn't said (publicly) what is wrong with himself, how do you know what is wrong?
Does Levi check in with you on a daily (or whatever) basis? Does Max tell you (presumably if Levi doesn't make it public he doesn't want anyone outside the inner circle knowing)? You have a crystal ball?
And, what would be simple about bronchitis, or a cold for that matter? For years scientists and doctors have been trying to cure the common cold and failed. Not really that simple!

I haven't read any of his comments, as i've been too busy doing work for the Tour, so perhaps you can enlighten me. It's obviously publicly available then
