Did you enjoy Striding Edge ? No problems with vertigo ? IIRC you were a
*bit* worried about that.
Hi Theo 🙂
I was a *lot* worried, but in the end Striding Edge was an absolute
blast! I wasn't on my own this time. and that made all the difference.
Darren went first and encouraged me along, and I found that very soon
my confidence increased enormously. I think part of it was because I
didn't feel any pressure to hurry, so's not to hold anyone up from
behind.
We went right over the top all the way, which is something I've never
done before, even when I was a student, and although there were
several moments when my tummy churned, my toes curled and I had to
stop to take a few deep breaths, I didn't experience vertigo at any
stage.
If anything, I'd been almost more worried about the descent down
Swirral Edge, because it's over 10 years since I last did that and I
remembered it as even more fearsome than Striding Edge. In the event,
though, it was fine.
The whole experience was great, and I think I'll approach my next
scramble with a great deal more confidence. I'm even thinking of
applying for a little scrambling course 🙂
Thanks for asking!
Best wishes,
