Not an exciting wild camp area but early December 2004 but Bonscale
Pike was good for seeing thhe inversion

as well), under outlook:

"A very warm weekend indeed, with higher summits possibly in very clear air
above an inversion."

With the moon approaching fullness on Saturday night, you may get to witness
an inversion in moonlight, now that would be something!

Of course the grand show would be, Full snow cover, full Moon, 360°
Inversion (cloud top 2500'😉 and a show of the aora borealis! my dreams,
my dreams ......

....which combined with the Saturday forecast implies possible
inversions on Saturday. No mention of Sunday, let alone Sunday
morning!

mwis now updated. The inversion is still forecast, but it's for
Scotland on Saturday.

It looks like it's going to be an good weekend for weather in the Lakes.

I think I've decided on the top of Fairfield somewhere, lots of valleys to
look down in the morning and the Helvelyn range also.

Thanks to the forecast, I was up A'Ghlas Bhein early enough on Saturday
morning to catch the inversion. The clouds were topping out at around
900M, so I only managed a couple of snaps. Nice views of Beinn Fhada and
Sgurr nan Ceathreamhan.

Seriously though, there's very, very little left and what there was, I
was easily able to kick through with my (summer) boots. If the weather I
had were to be repeated, it would be sandals and sunscreen - not wellies!!

We were at Stanage, there was mist in the valley but unfortunately
also at crag level. I suspect if we'd got up a bit earlier and headed
for something a bit higher we'd have had an inversion there too.
Sunday was just grey and cloudy all day :->
