I reckon that's why many boy-racers fix those bloody great
handlebar/tea-tray devices to their car boots - something to push the
car by :)

Hmmm, maybe. I always thought they were for putting their tinnies on while
chatting with their mates.

I discovered today that there's actually a Mondeo Owners Club, having
seen a really silly looking car with this url printed on the window:
<http://www.fordmondeoownersclub.co.uk/>

I actually liked the look of the first Mondeos. The front had quite a
friendly look, which Clarkson described as the ugliest car on the road
and looking like a wide-mouthed frog. The following year the headlight
shape changed and it became a really unpleasant, aggressive looking car.

It was the Granada (renamed to Scorpio) that Clarkson described as
looking like a wide mouthed frog, and he was right - it really did.

The Mark 1 Mondeo just looked like it was sucking its teeth in. Many
owners turned the grille upside down so it didn't look quite so frowny.

The Scorpio was two different ugly cars ( ugly in different ways) welded
together, the back of one ugly car to the front of another ugly car!
