Hey Lance

Not a huge fan of LA. But I have a lot of respect for him. Make sense? I am hoping that he'll put in some stellar performances in the next few days. Still impressed with that run he did in the cobbles a few days ago.

Oh settle down already. Lance is old (38) get use to it, but he's not in bad position though. But the first 6 stages are tune up races, the real race begins with stage 7 when the climbs begin, then the men will separate from the boys.

Personally I think this year is Mark Cavendish's year, but I don't know nothing since anyone could win it-even a nobody could be lurking in the shadows.

Lance has done everything in his powers so far to be where he is.
lets not forget his Contodor beating prologue. Excellent effort.
His only loss so far was due to a badly timed puncture and he took up the chase singlehandedly when he realised that time was on the line.
What could he have been doing in the meantime to improve his position? Nothing as attacks on flat stages are destined to fail and gain at most a few seconds.
He is playing the correct tactical game right now.
Today I expect he will just aim to shadow his rivals and save his energy for the real big hills where minutes can be gained not just points.

Agreed, I don't think today is critical for the GC riders. Hopefully they race hard, I think we'll see the 10 or so best climbers arriving at the finish together. I doubt Lance will be troubled to much by this stage.

I'm picking him...but that doesn't mean I'm right, I will probably be wrong!!!! Contador is my second choice. But I've seen Cavendish do some amazing things that left his rivals in the dust in other races...of course I don't know if that was due to the bike doping motor thing that was never proven.

Lance currently has the worst standing he's ever had going into the mountains, with a 1:51 time behind the current overall leader Evans. The worst previous standing was 46 seconds. But going into the Alps and the Pyrenees all bets are off because the whole field could change. If Lance does pull if off it would be the most dramatic TDF of all times considering his age and current standing.

Do you mean Cancellara instead of Cavendish? It would certainly be a better pick than Cav, but I would be shocked if Cancellara wore yellow on the last stage (shocked is a huge understatement)

no, I mean Cavendish.

yes, cancellara, not cav, was accused of the motor in the bike, i thought the same thing and have no idea what Froze is talking about. while cav is a great sprinter, cancellara is by far the stronger and more mature if you will cyclists and i'd think Can would be in contention for the win well before cav but the only way he, Can, could beat Lance is well, what has happened already, the wrecks and the mechanicals giving him the advantage ONLY, not any other way, me thinks, def not in the mountains and not in the overall.

and as for Lance coming into the mountains a few minutes behind, well, Anything is Possible and i'll be the last person to count him out

I got the motor mixed up with the wrong guy, I thought it was Cav that had the motor, regardless I'm still going with Cav. But let me say again...I'm probably wrong. In fact if I was betting, I would bet that I'm wrong!

Cavendish will need Renshaw, to lead him out to the start line, couple of hours before the bunch.
