i did watch him and like Phil Liggett said, through no fault of his own was he handed such bad luck. Lance looks better riding than schleck and contador combined.

on the plus side i can confidently say that he's entering the world of triathlon with one thing on his mind, victory.

shack was dropping off, not lance. did you not see him drop pretty much his entire team after the wreck where he had to change bikes to get back up to the front? he's not had at all, he's still got it and i hope he comes back for one more.

and as much as i can't stand contador and company, they put the hammer down precisley when needed to today, something they all learned from Lance and Bruykneel i'm certain, but i am done watching this years tour with interest as i could now care less.

Two Shack's men, Horner and Brajkovic, were all the way with him, although they've had strength to follow other two Shack's men in front - Leipheimer and Kloden.
I hope too he'll come back for more, but the question is - what more? More minutes of deficit?
Maybe he could give it a go for Polka dot jersey... He's far enough to be let in a breakaway or two. Maybe he gets a stage as a gift for retirement.

So, it was Armstrong who dropped off, not the Shack.

It's really not about how good you think they look, but who comes first, and it's not gonna be Lance this year. I was hoping to see more from him, but let's be honest. It wasn't because of bad luck he lost all that time today. He's just too old.

It's gonna be really exciting to see Schleck and Contador battle it out in the rest of the mountains though.

And btw. Cavendish for the overall?? Froze, have you ever watched cycling ever before? Or was your guess just out of the blue?

cav gives up the champs only when radioshack hit him with a tranquilising dart. i can see the peloton letting the old guy take the first loop at the front, but after that, all is fair and the gloves come off.

frankly, given the mercenary nature of the sport, i can't see any hungry rider from a team in a breakaway gifting anything to armstrong. if i'm worried about my wages for next year, i know that it won't be a multi-year from radioshack that i'll find on the table.

Armstrong? Stick a fork in that old turkey. See if he's done.

anybody (bluetrain?) following lance's twitter postings anymore? have they kept up to last year's pace or have they tailed off with the effort he's had to make so far?

Why are you giving up on Lance? Isn't he like uh, superman or something? He knew that beating these guys straight up was just too easy so he decided to slow down to give himself a real challenge for once. :-p
