  1. Can anyone explain HOW and WHY a civil forum like rec.food.cooking has
become vulgar, obscene, repulsive, demented, caustic, trivial, biased,
nit witty, irrelevant, boring, demented, gutrenching without out any
    contributor's personal validation and approval?

Simple answer, TROLLS, who used to visit the group, but have since tainted
it because they didn't like answers to their stupid questions. We're a
    target. Ride it out.

You know, I was just thinking last night that the dreaded Ch*ng seems to
have disappeared, and then I get up this morning to all this offensive
    ratbaggery.

I suppose it comes in waves, perhaps there's a full moon coming up.
Don't feed them and they'll bugger off eventually.

Let me help explain this. See some a$$holes decided they owned a public
forum. They liked to drive people out of a public forum. Now, some of
the people they drove out and there are more than one are fighting back.
Sorry, but it looks like your newsgroup is going to be a mess for
awhile. Do I care? Now FOAD and quite you're snivelling, you [censored] tard!

It ain't the real Sheldon, Ward. This is a troll that is using Sheldon's
moniker, along with several other member's names, and keeps morphing.

That one's not Sheldon. It's probably ~patches~ trying to get
"revenge" by morphing and spoofing. She's not really any good at it,
other than just spelling Sheldon's name.

What a pitiful soul who doesn't have anything productive to
    contribute.

.....but the again...the REAL Sheldon mimics our troll with precision
and/or our troll mimics the REAL Sheldon precisely. Mr. Hyde...are

@@@@@ Now You're Cooking! Export Format

Arugula Salad With Orange Couscous & Citrus

    salads

    1 cup water
    2/3 cup couscous
    2 whole orange -- peeled
    1 whole mango -- diced
2 tbs fresh basil -- chopped
2 tbs fresh chives -- chopped
    1 tsp cumin
3 tbs pine nuts -- toasted
    2 bunch arugula -- cleaned
    Vinaigrette:
    1 whole orange
    1/2 whole grapefruit
    1/2 whole lime
    1/2 whole lemon
    1/2 cup canola oil
    2 tbs white vinegar
3 tbs soy sauce, low sodium
    1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
    20 whole pink peppercorns
1 tsp fresh ginger root -- finely
    chopped
    5 tbs fresh cilantro

To make salad: Measure water into a 2-cup glass measure. Microwave on
    high
3 minutes, or until boiling. Stir in couscous, cover with plastic wrap
    and
let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork. Peel and segment oranges over a
    large
stainless steel bowl to catch excess juice - reserve segments for
    garnish.
After segmenting oranges, squeeze juice from core and membranes into
    bowl.
Add mango, basil, chives, cumin, pine nuts and couscous - toss to
    combine.
Pack mixture into 6 individual : 1/2 cup molds. Arrange arugula
wagon-wheel fashion on six large plates. Unmold couscous in center of
plate. Garnish with reserved orange sections

To make Vinaigrette: Peel orange, grapefruit, lime and lemon. Cut each
    into
segments over a large stainless steel bowl to catch excess juices.
Carefully dice segments, cutting - not crushing them. Add oil,
    vinegar, soy
sauce and Tabasco to fruit juices in bowl - whisk to blend. Add
peppercorns, ginger, cilantro, diced fruit and stir to combine. Makes
    about
1 1/4 cups. Drizzle over couscous.

    Yield: 6 servings
