Can anyone explain HOW and WHY a civil forum like rec.food.cooking has
become vulgar, obscene, repulsive, demented, caustic, trivial, biased,
nit witty, irrelevant, boring, demented, gutrenching without out any
    contributor's personal validation and approval?

Let me help explain this. See some a$$holes decided they owned a public
forum. They liked to drive people out of a public forum. Now, some of
the people they drove out and there are more than one are fighting back.
Sorry, but it looks like your newsgroup is going to be a mess for
awhile. Do I care? Now FOAD and quite you're snivelling, you [censored] tard!

That's life. In a free country we have to put up with assoles like Rob
    Wade, mastic, and arizonadreaming.

    Sorry, couldn't help myself!

Sorry...another valid contributor perpetuates the obscenity.

Say bubbye sweetie. I can't respect you any longer.

Heehee! Bye, Ward! Imagine that, KFed by one of the most negative
posters in the group. Sucks to be me.

Sucks to be you doesn't it Carol? You are even worse off than that one
eyed [censored] lyn and her [censored] brownie. Imagine going through life
loonier than an idiot! Yet you are doing it, sort of. More power to
you. Just keep telling yourself you aren't crazy and just maybe one day
it will come true. [censored] [censored]!

Did you miss the recent flamewar?

I think that's where all this started. In general, the less you react to,
comment on, or fight with someone who's behaving like a troll, the quicker
the episode will end. If no one made any comments, the fun would be over,
and the troll would find a better place to play.

But it's hard for some people to resist making comments when the right hot
buttons are pushed. And some people enjoy poking at the trolls that stop by.
Some of them are funny, obviously, and that's probably okay to play along
for a while. But the ones that just want to pick a fight get boring pretty
quickly, IMO. I've got better things to do.

I didn't participate in the flame war, and I've got no intention of joining
in on whatever fallout is coming this time around.

And this is about all I'm going to say on the subject.

    Ward,
You are repeating yourself, you used demented twice. Don't fret the
nastiness, it happens in all newsgroups - some more, some less - but all
newsgroups suffer from the same thing.

Call it someone claiming to be a poor imitation of Sheldon. SHIM has no
sense of fair play so has resorted to trolling in various incarnations so as
to disrupt and annoy even more people than is usual. Of course, if you have
an itch you will scratch it. So will you bat at a fly. ~something~ is
achieving the same result by posting her ignoramous [censored] here.

    One word: PATCHES

Well, whoever it is seems to be stacking AOL identities on AOL
identities - I KF'd every one of 'em before I thought to check the
header fields. If she/he *is* using AOL (which doesn't seem likely,
given the circumstances), AOL needs to kick her/his *ss off. And if
she/he *isn't* using AOL, wouldn't AOL be interested in where the
posts are coming from and fraudulently claiming AOL as her/his ISP?
