Did You Ride Today?

17.8 miles/17.8 mph/700 ft. Another windy day out there, loved the sun though and only needed shorts and a short sleeve jersey. Used the wind to push a strava segment by my house, yeah, I cheated.

Protest all around here in NY. Its too be expected though, he was way too loose with his words and is despised by half the country. If Hilary won, there'd be protest as well. Like I said, didn't like either and knew January would feel rough either way.

BTW Campybob- Yowamushi Pedal season 3 is set to start this January.

If the DNC didn't pay for protesters to be shuttled into cities, then there wouldn't be half of the sh1t that's going on right now...

To be honest, all Trump had to say about immigration and immigrants would be "lets follow the laws that are in place already and deport the toerags that snuck in the joint or overstayed their welcome" and that would take care of pretty much everything he said in an easy to swallow way for those that haven't mentally put on their "big boy pants" and feel the need to cry to mommy about everything and anything.

Can't wait for Trump to put Joe Arpaio in charge of the Federal prison system. ;)

A dog ran under my front wheel and I fractured my pelvis. I did 15 mins on the trainer at 215 watts today. To be honest it is far too smoky and unhealty to be riding outside due to fires and post campaign smoke being blown up voters asses , of course that second part is only theory.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Hope all heals well.

Did you at least wring the dogs neck and haul it off to the local Indian or Chinese restaurant?

I sneaked in a quick 22-mile climbing ride. Just about 1250' of vertical and it felt great to be going uphill on a 56 degree afternoon in bright sunshine! Perfect! Let's ride!

I stopped to pick up a pair of wire stripping pliers I spotted on the berm of a County road...bonus!

On a weird note, my Garmin 520 did a firmware update to Ver. 9.10 Tuesday and it wiped out all my data screen configurations and apps! *****! The last time it upgraded to Ver. 8.00 a couple of weeks ago it bricked the whole damn computer and I had format it and do a factory re-set! Double *****!

I haven't ridden since July and the Garmin is probably way out of date! The sweat from the Death Ride has probably crystallized on the front and is ready for sale to the French as Sea Salt!

Bricking it would be a fantastic excuse to not ride for another week. :)

Nah, I did well to pick myself up and get the bike out of the road.
I may post the video. Just got off the crutches Friday but I can see getting on the road by weeks end.
Bob I agree if cankles had been elected a lot of griping but no protests.

As the lads at BMW say:

God help you if the electronics start failing...and as a past owner of exactly ONE BMW car...the Germans build some pretty UNreliable electronics and wiring. I liked that BMW...when it was running. Every component of every system of my British cars failed. On the VW's it was a bunch of stupid little **** that constantly broke. With the BMW it was only the electrical system, but it managed to do it so often I had to get rid of the thing.

I hope your RR treats you better! It certainly sounds very sophisticated. I never found 150 HP in the wet to be too nasty, but I did tip toe around. With closer to 200 HP I think adjustable throttle and lean angle computations thrown in is a good idea for all but the most experienced riders.

My Harleys? Dead simple. Dead slow and even my old brain can still get the lean synchronized with the sluggish throttle response.

You know how I hat Jap ****. The GSXR was pretty animated as Jap road sport bike go. It had the most radical / race seat position of the four brands. That limited me to jumps of 250 quick miles at the outside. Comfy, it was not. However, if the rider was sufficiently skilled and bold it would reward with a heart rate it take me 16% on a pedal bike to get to. And it did it for several years for the cost of and oil change and tires.

Wheelies in the rain? I did my damnedest to keep the front end on the pavement! Sometime I'll tell you about a cold tire hole shot that launched me on a tour through two well manicured lawns and landscaping...

Bricking it would be a fantastic excuse to not ride for another week.

I just started copying all my settings files from the 520 to my PC's hard drive. I'm sick of spending an hour re-setting up data screens and data fields and reloading my app's. Now it's just copy and paste 3 or possibly 4 files back onto the 520 and I'm back in action, exactly as it was.

The 520 is actually a cool device if you can put up with Garmin's shitty firmware and the month-long TCX / GPX file export failure we just went through on Garmin Connect. How the Hell they could manage to wreck working code that has worked for years...no freakin' clue. Garmin's software people are on dope.

The only *****ing you'll hear from me is if Trump starts backing away from his campaign promises.

Why can't those Flash Mobs (PC-speak for urban yutes of certain ethnicity) attack me? I consider that kind of behavior to be combat.

Dam CAMPYBOB sounds like we could have raced against each other today and it wouldn't have been a pretty site. I went out after church and suffered threw 25 miles. My temp and wind were same as yours but a did a tad more climbing and it wasn't pretty. I knew right from the start I didn't have the leg's and was fighting the entire ride to find a gear I could turn over efficiently. I found myself getting out of the saddle and fighting the gears way to much today.

I only maxed my heart rate out at 159 BPM.

It's always fun to have a day of suffering on the bike, makes you appreciate the days when you can't kill the legs.

In this forum, I can talk cycling all day long, but am definitely the odd man out when it comes to politics. I don't consider myself a full fledged democrat, but i'm damn sure not a republican. The DNC has shown themselves to be underhanded, incompetent buffoons who have no one to blame but themselves. Trump did win, but he received less votes than Romney in 2012. Anyone but that washed up hag most likely would have won, but they shoved her on everyone.

As far as the protesters being paid? Even though the one of the few things I agree with Trump on is her being crooked Hilary, they don't have that much money or clout. A massive amount of people are out there, a "yuge" amount. IMO, its very simple what to do. They need to voice their opinion in 2 years and again in 4 at the polls. Whats done, is done and won't be reversed.

Heh. Turns out I had some very mild cold or flu. I feel much better today. Yesterday I was leg-stiff and leg-sore. Arms and shoulders felt weak, too. I just could not force the power out and you would have laughed at the puny little hills I was down in the 23 or 21 on! Yeah, you know you're on a bad day. but just keep going for the pure enjoyment of the ride.

LMAO! Indeed, a sorry 'race'. No RPM's. No power. No ability to gut it out!

5.5 miles on trainer at 221 watts. Clawing my way back. I could do more if my butt would hold out.

Nice job, JH. You're on the come back trail now! Relax and keep it short. You'll be back on a road bike in a couple weeks.

Just 17 miles this afternoon. Your indoor workouts will soon pass what I'm able to get in before dark. 55 degree air temperature and hardly any wind at all. The power returned and I felt great! The sun was out again and I blasted around a short loop I'll be locked into by daylight for the next thee months.

The Amish scooter bikes were out in droves and one young girl looked to be about 5 years old was furiously pushing her little bike along trying to keep up with her mom or older sister.

Just a short 12-mile jump. Sprinted out of the blocks...who needs a warmup when the sun is sinking fast?...and rolled the torque curve up until I hit the little rollers and pipeline construction. Then it was gas gas all the way back to the truck.

65 degrees and more sunshine with the wind an easy 6 to 9 MPH.

Sadly, the 'S' word is in the forecast for Saturday or Sunday. Friday is supposed to be above 70 degrees before it comes crashing down into the thirties for the weekend.

I feel a bad case of anal glaucoma coming on, because I can't see my ass going into work if it's nice!

No miles, I replaced the front brake pads on my vehicle. Not bad for an old dude with a healing pelvis. Get over it, baby boomers kick ass.

Not bad, JH! Sometimes it takes a pretty good tug on a 1/2" drive breaker bar to get the wheels and the calipers off. Couched down to work...shows the flexibility is still there.

I used an impacter on the lugnuts but lining up the new pads into the new clips was a pain. It had to be done. I will try and do some miles on the trainer again this evening.

19 miles/17.7 mph/800 ft.

A little wind, but warm for this time of year. A rare day off from work, i'm off tomorrow as well and plan on doing 40 or so with a friend.

BTW Campybob, what characters do you like on the show?

My favorites are Arakita, Kinjou and Manami. I thought Midosuji was a bit over powered.

6.3 miles and 221 watts on the trainer. I think I can do 10 miles but don't want to push too hard just yet.
