Is your Avanti a triple? Anyway 30 front 25 rear would be perfect doddle
gearing I reckon. I've got a 12-27 lying around if you want to try it as
well.

No worries will do. There is a nice spot down by the creek at the
showgrounds,
and it's walking distance to town/pub. Donga - Friday ride could be a goer
this
week if you are keen. I'm under strict instructions to maintain a lardearse
pace and
lurk at the back or Lotte has threatened to do something I don't really
understand
but sounds rather ominous :)

Is that 5.30 at Goodwill? Might be feasible.
I always like the sound of a good threat!

Tam's run some "stoopider" things than that...

I'm of the opinion you can get up pretty much anything with
the 30 on the front and I've only got a 12-23. Things like
Tambo, I never even get close to the 23 on the back. The 25
should be plenty.

Which Ashgrove-Samford loop is the *******? I always liked
the loop from Enoggera via Eaton's Crossing Rd to Samford,
with the fantastic descent partway through on that sh!tty
bumpy road that means I can't even risk being anywhere near
my brakes, and somehow still I have lost so much speed
within the first 2 metres of climbing the other side that
I'm grinding before you know it...

I'll be at Enoggera 11-26 November and keen for some
morning rides with people out that way (though I should be
very sleep deprived).

Tam

Methinks i need to be getting more of these hillclimb thingies under my belt if im going to be successful with a 30 and 25, for at the moment i am a total woos.

The ******* hill on my loop from ashgrove to samford is Mclean Rd sth near camp mt, alarm bells should have started going off when i saw the sign indicating one of the streets running off it was a 16% grade, but i pushed on... its a pretty short steep section, but it felt like i was trying to ride up something vertical!! once you get to the top and it becomes sutton crt, then the fun downhill bit starts, and now that i know where im going i wont be on the brakes as much. I planned to go through ross rd onto mt nebo rd but i couldnt find it (!!!) and ended up riding home through ferny grove instead.

Im going to be doing the same loop this sunday, including ross rd (now that i know where it is), i was planning to do glorious but that will probably take too long and i need to get home and study. so if you feel like a bit of a pootle this sunday morning, feel free to join me. Anyone else that feels like a bit of a pootle on sunday morning feel free to join in as well :)
