The ones showing him without were on his official website but its now
gone. That was on a motorised scooter though, not a bicycle.

I thought those images of him without a helmet were on a closed track, and
certainly looked 'staged' rather than as shots of him riding. Which I guess
isn't really relevant to 'normal' road-riding.

Why? His helmet may protect him if he falls from his bike on a closed track
while travelling slowly so the photographer can get his good side!!

It will, of course, be bugger all use on an open road when in collision with
a juggerynault.

As to the comment "it's on a closed track" - Here's what Mr Coulthard
says:

Nice work.

Some comments:

I think the photos come from a number of years, not just 2005 (the hint
is he now drives for Red Bull, not McLaren and he is wearing a McLaren
West jacket. The page also doesn't wrap in my browser so you have to
scroll left and right to read the text.

It might help on the helmet photo to draw people's attention to the
straps as what's wrong.

Thanks, I was about to go in and get that detail. I've removed a
