Did anyone take copies of those pics of Coulthard riding a bike
without a helmet from his website last year? According to a current
BeHIT leaflet he *never* does that.

On a similar subject , the latest copy of Ken Ken Ken (otherwise known as
"The Londoner"😉 the other day had a double page spread on cycling, with the
    main picture minus helmet.

I'm sure the press department are getting a good spanking from TFL right
    now.

And a 'cycling safety section without a mention of PFDBs! Very good promo.

I thought those images of him without a helmet were on a closed track,
and certainly looked 'staged' rather than as shots of him riding. Which
    I

    guess

isn't really relevant to 'normal' road-riding.

Why? His helmet may protect him if he falls from his bike on a closed
track while travelling slowly so the photographer can get his good side!!

    He has a good side?

It will, of course, be bugger all use on an open road when in collision
    with a juggerynault.

As there's no traffic on the track, he'd be safe from this eventuality, I
    guess.

Unless its truck racing day otherwise he only has to contend with people
    driving past at 200mph ;-)

I think our David has failed to fully grasp the concept of risk.

Au contraire. Mr Coulthard understands risk and therefore drives very
slowly. Slower than most of the other competitors.
