The lie is based on the illogical but very appealing premise that you can
eat anything you want except <insert "bad" carb>. Why do you think Atkins
sold so well? Because it worked for the long term? Hell, no. It sold to
people who would rather have [censored] instead of truth and weight loss on
    their
    terms instead of thermogenic physics.

Right, this new diet is just a temporary "fix" to sell to fat people
according to MU. Well, not actually. The Atkins form of a ketogenic diet was
printed and sold in the early 1970's. Prior to that doctors used a ketogenic
diet to alleviate symptoms of epilepsy and noted weight loss as a side
effect since the 1920's. FTR, 5th century B.C., Hippocrates reports about a
man suffering from epilepsy stopping convulsions when fasting. He surmised
that placing the body into a "starvation" mode stopped the seizures. The
same device was used years later to help children, especially those with
Lennox Gastaut syndrome, by placing them into starvation mode or ketosis and
helped 2/3 of children with epilepsy.

How do you support your claim that the Atkins diet is a short term quick fix
and basically is a lie? Where is your medical data? Are you the same person
that tried to sell your 2 pound "diet" for the last few years? Wondering.

Or perhaps evidence that weight loss is not a straight line process, you
could easily be retaining more water today than at your low.

I can gain/lose 2-4 pounds easy just from water weight......a good
solid 8 kilometer run after avoiding sodium for a day flushes me right
    out!

Talk to the NIH who studied and wrote about not only Atkins but many other
commercialized "book" diets. 95+ failure rates PLUS yo-yo effects PLUS more
weigh regained in a two year time span. Gee, that's fun and you get to pay
for it twice. With your health and with your purse.

See here's the thing. Commercial Diets don't work for the majority of
people for any length of time and the reason is simple. people never learn
to rationally lower food volumes. In short, we have been brainwashed to
think we can actually eat these ridiculous and unneeded volumes of food to

Well, just another bit of evidence that low-carb by itself does not let

That's what I mean when I say that as far as weight loss goes *all*
low-carb does is help you control your appetite somewhat. Period. Other

Why do people speak of low carb and low cal as though they are exclusive?
Most of the time they are not. Low carb is simply a means of eating less
    by
limiting carbs to remove BG-swing induced appetite. It is not magic per
    se
and one may still need an extra way of controlling the amount of
consumption, such as counting calories, in order to lose weight and
espeically to make sure the scale moves downward in a steady fashion,
    which
seems to be what doug wants to happen.

Most of us are not looking for magic, Roger. Most of us want control of our
    lives.

My life has changed a lot from the Atkins diet, and for those who haven't
found success with this or a similar diet, I'm sorry. I don't know how to
    help.

My scale does not move down in a steady fashion. I've lost interest in the
scale. My weight might stay the same for a month, and then suddenly drop.
It's not important to me. What is important is that I have found a WOE that
works and lets me control my weight over the long term.

If I wanted quick results I would do liposuction or something. But I am
becoming thin because of Atkins in less than a year, and don't need or want
    the surgery. Everyone is different.

    A newspaper article.

    See above regarding medical data.

The data is simple: *Everyone* who uses the 2PD Approach to eat less
loses weight. The shift from "watching *what* you are eating" to
"watching *how much* you are eating" appears to be the key to
    permanent weight loss.

This data has been publicly presented:

    http://tinyurl.com/3pard

The skinny on the 2PD Approach:

    http://tinyurl.com/2p7ud

Why is the 2PD Approach free if it works so well ?

It is written in Ephesians 2:

10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

All is a waste of time until you find the way to eternal life with the
Creator of the universe. When you do, there is no waste of time
because there will be an infinite amount of it. Walking about
aimlessly thinking it is *your* time, *your* money, *your* lot, *your*
labor, *your* profit, and *your* power that you are using is
    tantamount to self-worship.

For Christ lights up the way through John 14:

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me..."

This bring us back again to the following very simple decision tree
for the untruthful folks who have chosen to walk in the "dark":

    (1) Accept Christ.
    Risk: Nothing.

Benefits: Salvation, purposeful life, eternal life, unimaginable
    riches in God's eternal kingdom.

    (2) Reject Christ.
Risk: Eternal separation from God. Eternal torment of your soul by
    satan.

    Benefits: Nothing.

Again, one has to conclude that those (ie Carey, Steve, Bob, Zee,
Frank, Hawki, Rolando, Sarah, Kate, Don et al) who would reject Christ
have not thought out their decision *logically*.

Would suggest you cast a glance at Bob Pastorio as a special example
of untruthfully eloquent self-worship (BTW, Bob remains in my prayers
out of Christian love) who is being driven to madness by my ignoring
    him (http://makeashorterlink.com/?V29A236C9 and more recently
http://makeashorterlink.com/?V25D312E9). All this power belongs to
God who has judged Bob Pastorio with His Word
(http://makeashorterlink.com/?G33F51E69). All praises to Him, Whom I
love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength :-)

It remains my hope that all non-christians will consider the following
as their logic should dictate before it is too late:

    http://makeashorterlink.com/?I22222129

(Please note that God truly made this special link describing that He
is the great "I am" and that His message is as simple as the number 2
which is a number between 1 to 9 and reminds us of His 2 commandments,
the 2 arms of the cross, the 2nd part of the Trinity, the 2 finger
sign of the Prince of Peace [who remains *V*ictorious over death and
satan], and the 2PD Approach. Let it not ever be written that Christ
did not make His presence known here on Usenet :-)

That's just terrible! I'll bet you are so miserable being that weight,

say you should weigh? According to Metropolitan Life's charts you must be
way under 5" tall. Being a little person myself, I know how some rules
don't apply to us. We must eat tiny potions of what others can eat and
exercise a lot. Less is more and more is less.

    Hugs,

I meant 5 feet but then you knew I was posting using American measurement
when I messed up and used inches instead of feet. Sorry 'bout that. I am a
tiny person and as such it IS difficult to lose much weight compared to
others that post here. As I had posted, the height-weight chart I looked at
was from Metropolitan Life and is in feet and inches as well as pounds. FTR,
wish America would get with the rest of the world and use the same
    measurements🙂

You're an idiot and a quack. There's no way you should be giving any type of
medical advice. That's why you don't have access to a hospital, and why you
were fired in Florida. This is also why you troll usenet for unsuspecting
"patients". You bought your credentials on the internet. Shame on you.

Thanks for affirming (along with all the other desperate folks who love
the darkness) that I remain truthful in my work :-)

It is written in Ephesians 2:

10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

All is a waste of time until you find the way to eternal life with the
Creator of the universe. When you do, there is no waste of time because
there will be an infinite amount of it. Walking about aimlessly
thinking it is *your* time, *your* money, *your* lot, *your* labor,
*your* profit, and *your* power that you are using is tantamount to
    self-worship.

For Christ lights up the way through John 14:

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through me..."

This bring us back again to the following very simple decision tree for
the untruthful folks such as yourself, neighbor, who have chosen to walk
    in the "dark":

    (1) Accept Christ.
    Risk: Nothing.

Benefits: Salvation, purposeful life, eternal life, unimaginable riches
    in God's eternal kingdom.

    (2) Reject Christ.
Risk: Eternal separation from God. Eternal torment of your soul by
    satan.

    Benefits: Nothing.

Again, one has to conclude that those (ie you, Carey, Steve, Bob, Zee,
Frank, Hawki, Rolando, Don et al) who would reject Christ have not
    thought out their decision *logically*.

Would suggest you cast a glance at Bob Pastorio as a special example of
untruthfully eloquent self-worship (BTW, Bob remains in my prayers out
of Christian love) who is being driven to madness by my ignoring him

who has judged Bob Pastorio with His Word
(http://makeashorterlink.com/?G33F51E69). All praises to Him, Whom I
love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength :-)

You will be in my prayers, dear neighbor whom I love, in Christ's holy
    name.

May you accept Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, someday, so that
you too will escape satan's rule and torment of your soul after you die.

Please do consider the following as your logic should dictate before it
    is too late:

    http://makeashorterlink.com/?I22222129

(Please note that God truly made this special link describing that He is

Right, this new diet is just a temporary "fix" to sell to fat people

I never said it was new so what is this useless history lesson about?

How do you support your claim that the Atkins diet is a short term quick fix

Talk to the NIH who studied and wrote about not only Atkins but many other
commercialized "book" diets. 95+ failure rates PLUS yo-yo effects PLUS more
weigh regained in a two year time span. Gee, that's fun and you get to pay
for it twice. With your health and with your purse.

See here's the thing. Commercial Diets don't work for the majority of
people for any length of time and the reason is simple. people never learn
to rationally lower food volumes. In short, we have been brainwashed to
think we can actually eat these ridiculous and unneeded volumes of food to
