    I believe he meant "round"

    Oh, indeed.

But if you google his name, you'll see he has switched from

    Dear Rick,

Please, in the future try to use the traditional
phrase, not briefer and less hyperbolic substitutes.

As has been discussed, you should have said:

    "I don't believe a word of it."

    Helpfully,

    Carl Fogel

Different cultures have different traditions. Depending
upon the location, all of the following might have been
    equally apt:

"Are your sure, man?" "That's what you get for thinking."
"If you didn't think so, you'd vanish, eh?" "You're not
    sure?" "I'm not so sure."

I thought perhaps you were feeling a little bashful about
some of your posted opinions given the [censored]-and-fan
    convergence going on for w.

The moral high ground is NOT a relativistic place. Don't
even start with that [censored] argument about how bad the
    Iraqis are.

Colin Powell admitted the mobile WMD lab lies. The wheels
are coming off. Hope they got their helmets on.

We could have been adored by the world, now we are
demonized. Thanks a [censored] ya [censored]' "Mayberry

Umm, could we just let the manure impact the ventilator
*downwind* of here, and encourage Mark to talk about *bikes*
instead? Things might actually be on topic then...

  11. I dunno why it never occurred to me before, but "Mark

    Dear CCU,

It never occurred to me, either, which is why I watch for
    your posts.

But I suspect that it's occurred to Mark a few times:

    "Hickey, Mark?"

    "Present!"

Are you quoting Dylan? If so, please let readers know that.

    Dear Rick,

That kind of red herring won't fly! It's a lie of the . . .

    [Pause to count on fingers.]

    Third--

[Recount in defiance of the Supreme Court.]

    No, fourth kind!

    to make of Mamie:

yea, rick. don't plagiarize. unless you're a scientist or
    mathematician.

"Plagiarize, Let no one else's work evade your eyes,
Remember why the good Lord made your eyes, So don't shade

sure to please call it 'research.'"

Naaah... like Sheldon, I have a pathological need to correct
misinformation when I see it. And I see a LOT of it in that
thread that needs to be corrected. I like to think of it as
    a dis-disinformation campaign.

Oh, and using the term "vast right wing conspiracy" has sort
of lost its luster after Hillary used it to describe what
could only be Republican-generated lies about her hubby's
philandering. You have to keep up with the current jargon if
you wanna hang with the new libs.

  20. I may not agree with much of what Mr. Hickey has to say in
regard to Iraq and our (US) reasons for being there -- OK, I
agree with virtually none of it, but I for one am glad to
see that cyclists are not a a homogenous smear of leftwing
bobbleheads. What a dreary world this would be if everyone
    had the same beliefs.

I am sorry to see a topic in rec.bicycles.tech with his
name as the topic, when the discussion is not about Ti
    bicycle frames.

Do you think we could propose a newsgroup rec.bicycles.not-
    tech, or rec.bicycles.politics? Or
    rec.bicycles.politics.iraq?
    rec.bicycles.rightwing.bobbleheads?
