  10. Well, now I might not know what Freeriding means, because
I am still in the research mode before purchasing my
    first bike.

BUT, I am NOT new to the internet, and I *DO* know what a
    troll is...

It is obvious to me know that the TROLL is indeed SORNI.
Placing that label on others, Bill, won't lessen the fact
    that the TROLL is YOU!!!!

Dude, if you're truly not new to the internet, then just
Google the term "freeriding" and you'll have more reading to
do than time to do it. (And you'll see why the topic is
often "trollish" -- IOW controversial -- in nature.)

Although he does have a point with the google thing....
Freeriding is freestyle mountainbiking. Usually taken to
extremes. I think people like Bill are quit jealous of
the skill it takes to be good at it, and would rather not
    hear about it.

A lazy, top posting troll to boot. Nice job.

It takes skill to ride off trail and destroy sensitive
    habitat?

  17. You will find that a lot of old timers are not so open
about this subject here. I am 35 and have been riding for
30 years and yes I freeride. I ride every type of off road
    biking there is.

    Ok...

To me freeriding is about a combination of BMX "freestyle",
trials, dirt jumping, Urban and DH... maybe some good old
trail riding in there too. See, it isn't about doing
anything the fastest or highest (to me) it is all about
reinventing the way you ride you bike and seeing new lines
and tricks on your favorite trails.

I have a Bullit and I love it.. I just got back from
my first DH run in a long time (I was on a rigid back
    then eeeck!).

    RR will follow.

I think there needs to be a distinction between off-trail
freeriding and on-trail. Off-trail = bad in most cases
because it tears up the land.

I love to on-trail freeride, which I'd define as riding
for pure fun with air and/or possible alternate lines.
Kind of how I like to ski, but with more regard to
staying on an established route or only going off route
    when it's all rock.

Using bike lanes or sidewalks to get to the poached trail.
