"Someone please define helmetless freeriding on a SS
while on poached trails when indulging in a low-carb
lifestyle while listening to a radio with headphones and
    dodging moutain lion attacks?" :-)

    Did I miss any?

I think there needs to be a distinction between off-trail
freeriding and on-trail. Off-trail = bad in most cases
because it tears up the land.

I love to on-trail freeride, which I'd define as riding
for pure fun with air and/or possible alternate lines.
Kind of how I like to ski, but with more regard to staying
on an established route or only going off route when it's
    all rock.

My new ride is listed as a "trail bike", I tried to ride it
off a 2 ft jump, it balked like Christopher Reeve's horse, I
dangerously approached black top the other day, the wheels
locked up, I wanted to take this 4WD climb, it veered to a
single track trail. I guess it knows.

Dude, if you're truly not new to the internet, then just
Google the term "freeriding" and you'll have more
reading to do than time to do
it. (And you'll see why the topic is often "trollish"
-- IOW controversial -- in nature.)

Is the SS steel, aluminum, carbon, scandium, titanium,

Can't indulge in a low carb lifestyle with a Mtn. Dew IV bag
    plugged into your arm.

Free ride is the 7 bikes I garbage picked over the past two
weeks from the heavy-item garbage pickup routes in my
parent's nabe in NJ. I swear, those people get a flat tire,
    they toss the whole bike.

Muhahahaha! These bikes are getting sold mostly. One, a
pathetically unscratched Dyno BMX bike is already gone ($40+
a Makers and soda at my local barstool. I could have made
twice easy if I sold it in Williamsburg, but they guy seemed
excited and I can get softhearted when I've been tippling.
Besides, all I did was fill the tires.) A small Nishiki is
getting stripped down with the frame going to a riding buddy
for a fixie. Another Nishiki has been stripped down to be
rebuilt for my brother. My bud, Surly Pete, has a workshop
in Bed-Stuy that's going to be the lab for the CHUNK armada.
I will be working on the old boat anchor Schwinn that a
derrrrunk Dutch friend somehow bent the frame and fork on
blitzing a pothole. It will be mated with a Kia wee bitty
girl's bike. I know, it's so unwholesome. Jousting training
video and core samples soon to come. /s
