GPS errors

totally OT but doing any HF work lately? I just had all my long distance radio drop out on me - I
guess there is something going on up over the poles!

Nope. Sold my HF gear a few years ago. I couldn't be bothered with aerials after they cut the tree
down in the park, and then I discovered the Internet, although the QRM is just as bad here!

I have a vague memory that I have met you somewhere and that we had a mutual friend, could have been
Reg G3WPF? Wotsyer callsign? I can remember them better than names and faces!

Send it on CW if you like. ;-)

The whole GPS system as well as some mobile comms went bannanas the other night due to strong solar
flares emmitting from the Sun, apparantly, we can expect worse in the next few weeks.........

Presuming you mean the 24th, yes. I was using the GPS from roughly 9pm until 10:30 pm. No problems
with mine.

er, yes as I noted.....:-)

Just wondered if anyone else had seen this and how widespread it was. It was certainly enpough to
shut off most long range HF stations.

localised in extent then.
