Mag Trainer Question

What's bothering you, the noise coming from the resistance unit or the tires squealing? If the former, there's not much you can do; mag trainers make a fair bit of noise. If you're using it on a wood floor or similar, placing a rug or some cardboard underneath should help reduce the resonance. If it's squealing, use a different tire and/or fiddle with the tension until it stops.

As suggested before, dampen if the noise is an issue to others. If it's only an issue to you, use HEADPHONES! Then, all the buzz, whizznfrngnx, screech and "thumpa-thumpa-thumpa", go away, and are replaced by the Counting Crows, Mahler, Snoop Dogg, Elvis, Albert King, Miles Davis, Kingston Trio, Metalica or whatever you're enjoying on the CD Walkman or MP3 playah.

I recently bought a mag trainer too. My GF complained that she could hear the noise throughout the flat when I hit a sprint. I have placed a thin camping underlay under the unit as noise insulation (and sweat protection for the floor). Since then the noise hasn't been a problem at all. In this case the noise was the vibrations from the unit against the linoleom floor in my office.

Thanks! I'm just worried that someone would complain with the noise as I live in an apartment. But I found out was when I wet the tires, the sound just completely shuts off, so it must be the tires squealing... oh well...
