Not a nice incident, and the cyclist should not have done this.
But if you are so all-fired-up about "The Other Viewpoint" please post
to this list a news item every road collision which results in a death.
You'll soon get tired. In fact, you won't be able to find most of them - deaths caused by cars
are so unremarkable they are not reported.
But someone gets hit on the arm by a bicycle - they are "mown down" -
Around 3500 people die on the roads in the UK every year.
I'm waiting for your ten posts per day.

A cycling group.
And as someone who has had a dear, dear friend killed on the roads, and
has seen the aftermath of a death on the road, I have every right to
a) post here about cars
b) tell you to get lost till you spend a month finding local news
articles about EVERY death on the roads before coming here and whining
about oen badly-behaved cyclist. -

He was a lovely, gentle man who had a fund of knowledge, always ready to

Ah, but this wasn't a death, so to be strictly correct Dewi would need
to post every injury caused by a motor vehicle as well. He might need
to start a new newsgroup. However, in this instance the cyclist's behaviour was disgusting if you
take the report at face value.--

Parliament that day and had previous drink-driving convictions.http://www.felixonline.co.uk/articles/2413/Imperial_staff_member_killed_in_hitandrun

OK, for balance report every death caused by a car on a motoring group and
see how you get on. And while you're at it every dog bite on a dogs group.
Etc.etc. In fact, post your trolls anywhere but here. -

But should we be unduly bothered by an isolated incident of disgusting
behaviour by someone on a bike? Because if the benchmark for incident
reporting on car drivers' behaviour was neither death nor injury but simply
'disgusting behaviour', then we'd certainly need a new usenet! ;-) -

Not reported so not recorded as a statistic
Even if reported it still not recorded as such and again not a stat.Best place to get truthful stats is via the A&E departments.

Please don't feed the troll. Since its local to Dewi I wouldn't even
put it beyond him being the mystery cyclist so he could come back here
and troll.Tony

report by a clearly incensed witness, with no corroboration, and has
clearly been exaggerated to fill column inches on a slow news day.--

cycle path, its likely she knows she was and it could well be she
stepped in front of the cyclist, not that that is an excuse for a
cyclist hitting her unless it was unavoidable.Tony
